i was just thinking that polyphony could well be sued by leaving the code to the diablo in the game. but the only way thay really could get sued is if they left the code to the nomad in the game intentionaly so that others would fin it, but if it was an aciident they could get sued for misconduct. is this true can any of you shine any lite on this topic;)

I'm pretty sure they could sue them but why? I'm sure polyphony didn't mean to leave the code in the game intentionaly....They were close to there deadline and didn't have time to take the code out. Just to complex.

I'm pretty sure they could sue polyphony. But I don't think they left the car in the game intentionaly. They were very close to there deadline when they had to take the car out i believe. It would have takin to much time to try and remove the code.

as to lamborghini iut looked like it was gone but the developers probably knew and probably posted the code and it lookes like an accident, good play by polyphony on our part , but bad play on their legal part, as lamoborghi is a copywrited name, tut tu tut

I don' see why Chrysler would sue Polyphony. It was just an accident. Everybody makes mistakes. Besides, taking out that code as colse as they were to the deadline would have been almost impossible. They code they used for the Lambi was very, very, VERY large and would have taken about 2 months to take out.

Actually I dont think lambo would sue poly for one reason...

VW...

VW is the owner/parent company of lambo

Because of their previously made arangments with other racing game companies (need for speed anyone?)
Lambo may have actually not really cared all that much if the code was hidden in the game.

Lambo was probably just trying to protect themselves from breach of contract with the people at nfs.

If lambo didnt know they were left in the game on a legal level, then they couldnt be held responsible.

That way, vw who is in the game, can have their best racing company in the game. Lambo can be represented in the best racing game in the world.
And no one is responsible on a legal level for the over sight that is only known to the die hard gt fans.

Removing a large amount of code from the game would have meant the game would have to be put through a much larger Quality Audit programme than simply disabling it. The bigger QA would have been more costly and taken a lot longer, as would the extra coding.

Good point Gotenks, also a another note. The license that polyphony got was from the nomad racing group, so basically it was a mistake
