You want what for it!?
Hi guys,

I was cleaning out a draw and found the December issue of Official Playstation Magazine Australia that contained special GT bits.

On the last page was a shot from inside the PD office, which shows a bench littered in model cars and boxes. On the readable boxes I can see things like an old, Gulf liveried Gt40, Alfa Romeo GTV, and a Ford Focus WRC car. (original focus RS model(Don't know if it was in GT4)In white red and blue).

But the most interesting thing that caught my eye was a Black Autoart box. I can only see the side of the box, and it is black with some grey graphics, not sure if they resemble anything. And smack in the middle is a gleaming yellow lamborghini fighting bull. The scale is 1:18.

Now i'd upload a scan but I can't seem to get my printer working (typical) nor can I dig up the photos on OPMA's facebook page. If anyone here owns or has seen the box art for the 1:18 Autoart Reventon, can you get us a pic? I'll try and get my scanner working, or if someone else has the same mag could you scan it? I hope I'm onto something!

Ooooh, I have that. I'll take a webcam picture in a second, and I'm working on downloading the software to allow my printer to scan images properly.

Uhhhh, just wait for a scan... The box in question is the one right in the center though. The rest of the definable vehicles there have been in at least one previous GT game before though (except for the Nascar near the Lambo box).

Ok, seems my printer is dead too. Sorry folks.

Being the weird nerd that I am, I can tell you that the AUTOart Reventon comes in the Airforce matte greyish colour and gloss black only.

👍

Besides, I MAAAAAYYY have seen a video with a Reventon model sitting on a table in the PD den. Not sure, but I wouldn't put it past myself to remember. :P

There may be a model on a desk, but that's not exactly evidence we'll see it in the game as a lot of the workers are, obviously, car enthusiasts.

indeed, before getting my hopes up I would take that into consideration

If they had the box for scale model minds nothing, but, GT5 at least must have a Reventon, FM3 have, Shift have, PD dont want to have less.

Sorry my english.

i was never really a fan of the old lambo cars but i have to say i think the ones they have been making for the last 5 years are really very beautiful so if we could get one of those tuneable upto 800-1000bhp i think it would be amazing to drive.

Is there a Golf Mk III VR6 aswell? If thats the case, they might just be buying some scale models to choose from them, or have some more cars in case they want to add something later. I mean they took pictures of so many cars for GT4 and had hundreds of scale models of cars, that never were in GT4.

Those models are vrery well made... so why not use them instead of photos ?

I doubt that there would be inaccuracies or anything like that, it just spoils my romantic vision of PD having to painstakingly represent each car from hundreds of photos they took, while they could see. the actual car! Smell it, touch it, hear it! Using models lacks the passion I thought PD were famous for.

Yes, but put a real car next to your computer at work ;)
Models are great tool for modeling IMO.

They still have to take photos, scan some cars with lasers or something and go out there to find the cars and make manufacturers show them their latest prototypes. Its just that not all the developers at PD get a chance to travel arround the world to see the cars that they have to medel in the end. Its just some few people that take the pictures and hand them over to the people that model them ingame. So to get a feel for the proportions its important to have those models.

Lamborghini needs a new supercar design. The Countach is still too similar to the cars now-a-days. The Diablo, Murciélago, Gallardo and Reventón are just updates of the Countach. They need something more bold. May they head into another direction with something fresh!

There's a lot of things models won't provide, no matter how accurate. They're a decent basis, but things like the interior aren't always modeled directly like the real thing.

I hope to god you're joking....

Sure, but i think it's very good for the overall proporion view.

I agree with on all those, except the gallardo. The gallardo is totally different than the rest.

Lamborghini's have the names of famous corrida bull's, the look's (in this way or another) IMO too. I'ts a tradition and it should stay that way!

McLaren, I hope to God you are joking. Look at Ferrari, for example. You don't see TOO much similarity in a F430 compared to a 458 Italia compared to an Enzo compared to a TestaRossa compared to an F50.

But with Lambo, you're looking at similarities galore.
