^ Meaning it's impossible to get after a certain point?

No, the used cars list is on a 100 week cycle.

It's Available:
Week 48 (days 330-336)
Week 78 (days 505-511)
Week 82 (days 568-574)

Then the 2nd cycle:
Week 148 (days 1030-1036)
Week 178 (days 1205-1211)
Week 182 (days 1268-1274)

And so on...

worst case it would take 455 days (in the game) to buy the car, if you were on week 83, or 183, or 283...etc.

Oops, I didn't notice how rare it was.
How about we switch to the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car '92. It is a prize car for the (normal difficulty) rally at the same track in the PAL version. Is this the same in NTSC?

My thinking behind the choices was that I wanted a track where speed without control would be a killer, and the first sector here provides just that. I then needed an appropriate mid-powered car for the track, and I wanted it to be Italian. There's not many choices between the FF Alfa Romeo's and the MR Pagani Zondas!

I have no problem with the Rally Car, in fact I like Rally Cars either one is good with me. Here are all the Italian Rally Cars in the North American Prize list.

North American Version
SPECIAL CONDITION HALL (NORMAL):

Rally d' Umbria : LANCIA Delta HF Integrale Rally Car '92

SPECIAL CONDITION HALL (HARD):
Rally d' Umbria : LANCIA Delta S4 Rally Car '85
Chamoni : LANCIA STRATOS Rally Car '77

Ok then, that settles it;

Round 10

Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car '92 (Prize)
Citta Di Aria (Reverse)

There's not a lot you can add to the car as it is already race spec, but a Stage 4 Turbo, Sticky Tyres and an oil change takes it from 300hp -> 524hp. It's then a matter of adjusting the settings to bring it under control!

It took me 5 laps before I managed a clean one.

P.S. I remember now why I hate this track in reverse, stupid stoops sticking out right after the start. The one on the right usually gets me and if it doesn't the one on the left does.

P.S. Another excellent week of gear grinding. Grumpy and I are lagging a bit behind. Pick us a good one Car-Less.

Yeah, I have a little issue with Trial Mountain, between the elevation changes and jutting rocks... I'm sure this round will be just as tough on the fenders.

Round 10

Boy those were some bad runs... Need practice, all my braking lines are all screwed-up.

How did you shave 5 seconds off of your 1'28 time? The rest of us are playing bumper cars trying to get close to that one. My first guess would be a longer gear set, rest would be suspension, LSD, and track technique.

I haven't touched the gears - its all down to brakes, suspension and knowing the track.
The suspension was dropped and stiffened, with the front being higher than the back. Brakes I think were 9 / 7, and the second video should show my braking points.

Mostly though, I think it was luck and practise. Very few attempts are clean, and 1:26's are what I normally manage when I don't DNF due to a major crash.

Well I tried another gearbox and some other changes and got below 1'30, a new personal victory. I don't know about 1'23 though, thats tough to touch.

Round 10 is over!

Seems I'm the only one that likes the Chaparral 2D or could get one. Either that or its the track. It is kind of quiet this week. "cricket noise" :odd:

Not too sure about the car, but I'm not a fan of the track.

That and the fact the weather is very nice and we're between easter and a royal wedding in the UK, so perfect for holidaying.

Round 11 is over!
BH-21 had the best time with no one the second best. GrumpEone or Car-less can pick the car and track for round 12. If not then I guess its time to take a break or stop this. Please use the following example for the posting when you make it.

Example:
Round 1 (Bold, text size 4)

Infinity G35 Coupe '03 (New)
Fuji Speedway '90s (Normal)

Round 12

Lancia Stratos '73 (New @ $133,970)
Opera Paris (Normal)

If anyone objects to me reviving this, let me know. You have until Monday, July 4th to show everyone what you can make this tail-happy bugger do. :)

Since no one else is competing and no reason to extend the time. How about I just cycle this tommorrow and pick the next challenge. Mind you it will be a tough choice as this was a good one.
