Not sure how much slower the sense of speed is in other cars, but after seeing that Sauber video, I can only concurr that this incarnation of GT is hands down MUCH better then GT3 IMHO!

Can't wait till Feb. 22nd!

I've just done 5 clean laps at Trial Mountain in GT3 PAL and GT4 Japanese demo using a RX-7 Savanna car with the Dualshock2, MT, all aids off. The average times are as follows:

GT3: 1'47.024 (from 1'48.521 to 1'45.195)
GT4D: 1'47.318 (from 1'47.500 to 1'46.001)

In GT3, the Savanna isn't featured in arcade mode so I had to buy it. When bought, it had 202 PS/6500rpm and a torque of 28 kg f.m/3500rpm. The GT4D Savanna has 205 PS and 27.50 kg f.m.

In order to boost the HP of the GT3 Savanna I changed the oil, only to boost the power all the way to 212HP. Oops! The tyre choice in GT4D doesn't tell us exactely what kind of rubber it is so I used the default tyres in GT3 and the Sports in GT4D. Not the best choice, I know, but it felt okay since Racing in GT4 must be some sort of soft tyre and Street is more or less GT3 Simulation.

Anyway, what's most interesting is that the handling in GT3 felt artificial and too simple, as opposed to GT4. Also, the brakes were a bit too effective in GT3, something I'm glad they've tweaked for GT4.

Brakes have always been too effective in the GT games IMO.

Which track?

As for the sense of speed: The first time I did the Le Sarthe test in the Sauber the feeling I had was 'controlled panic'. Holy crap, I am going very fast!

is the sense of speed like doin 39 seconds round olympic square in nfsu in a fully modded RX7?

Umm, I haven't played NFSU so I have no idea. Besides, it's a stock RX-7 so I wouldn't say there's a lot of sense of speed.

I've been running it with my fully modded 240z. The last GT to have this car was 2. I remember running an endurance with it on Apricot Hill and my best lap tip was a 1:16.

On Gt4 I can pull it off in 1:17 with Nos and RSS and everything else maxed, plus some special settings.

Of course there is some decimals, but I don't remember them, I've proof of the 1:17 though.

And no matter how hard I've tried, I cannot get any faster. I was running Identical Lap times like 4 times in a row. So I do believe there may be something about GT4 that makes it slightly different. Of course it could be the track is just slightly larger somewhere??
