Anyone here tried DFP or DF wheel for the demo?
I tried, it felt so awesome
specially on downhill sections
I had so much fun on drifting
very good chassis by comparing other cars in GT4P

Just a small notice, i'm no native English speaker, but i think there are 4 feet ;) 👍 The explanation is very good 👍

You´re right. Sorry 'bout that.

As a german GT4-Fan i also hope to improve my english by posting in this forum.
Thanks for the hint !

But isnt the suspension correction also involved in this, to keep the car as flat as possible through a corner?
Or is there another system for that?

That´s an interesting question, but i think no, because there is another name for this system.

Alfa Romeo calls this type of suspension "skyhook", because the cars seem to hover above the street und you only see minimum reaction of the Chassis while driving over bumbs and driving in turns.
Mercedes-Benz offers this system as "ABC= Active Body Control". This system prevents the chassis from "rolling" in bends (i hope i got the right words !).

Maybe at BMW the two systems are "merged".

I will do some research....

Just read in the german "auto, motor & sport" the DSC and ESP is absolutely the same. And as an employee auf Mercedes-Benz i know that this only controls the brakes.

The new M5 uses a DSC System with 3 settings ! That means everything from "absolute control" and no tire wreckage to complete drifting at the limit is possible, but they say nothing about a body control or about the suspension.

It might be a little 'off-topic' but it is relevant in a way...

Found on a Dutch Forum, (pity I can read it, it's on that site that show all the GT4P Test times) edited two different posts and put all together...

p.s. Sorry it's so long

[Edit] It broke, no surprise. Now starts to wonder if I should've started a Nurb' Car Time Database thread... if someone feels the need Nike it. (Just do it)

Just managed a 9:04 with 120 d, road tires and dsc off.

But there were still a few little mistakes.

I still believe that i can manage a time under 9 Minutes within a perfect lap.

You will never drive THE perfect lap on the Nordschleife, even in GT4. ;)

The list above is from German car magazine "Sport Auto". They have a special kind of test called "Supertest" in which they test the named cars on the Nordschleife, short circuit of Hockenheim, checking aerodynamics/downforce and so on. "Sport Auto" is published monthly.

btw: The record-time for the Porsche Carrera GT is now on 7'32:44 driven by Horst von Saurma.

EDIT: As I can see at the moment, these facts were already posted on other threads. Shame on me.

Well i live in Aachen which is 70 Minutes away from the ring, i read every issue of the "sport auto" and i´am at the ring at least 10 times a year !
I love the so called "supertest" (i´m waiting for the new Mustang to be tested) and i know Horst von Saurma (His name is "Horst von Saurma-Jeltsch" since his wedding last year).

Nothing new to me !!!

Almost !!!

120 d
dsc off
road tires

9:01:502

And there were still some useless slides but always at least 2 wheels on the track !!!

Within the next 4 days i will manage a time under 9 Minutes !!! Promise !!!

OK, updated my times, all street tires, MT, DSC off and Driving Force Pro

120i 9:10.936 i think
120d 8.55.2xx

PS: Notice the handling difference between the 2 ?? I guess Polyphony really did their jobs perfectly :P

Yeah, me too :) PS: I somehow don't write down my checkpoints, they are quite a lot, i just say like (please don't laugh)

Turning at Steilstreckenkurve( before the Karusell) 5.03 is ok (5 or 6 i don't really know, you see, i never play GT4 while my steering wheel is out for repairs 💡 ) then Karusell exit 5.24 is standard, then Brünnchen at 6.xxx, exit at Galgenkopf at 7.59, going past the entrance to the parking lot 8.25 and so on 👍 👍

Just a quick question for those who are not yet lucky enough to be able to drive a Nurb' lap...

How many splits are there on a full lap???

Normal length race tracks in the GT Series have 3 splits during the lap and the finish line naturally, what does the Nordscheife have??? 8-10???

Kewl, thnx for that... pity it's not like a F1 monitor screen and displays best sector times for each sector in a different colour or even records your best sectors for a certain car so you could calculate a 'possible' lap... lol
