Laptop Problems!! Please HELP!

I have a laptop, not the one i'm using now, and it dosent seem to be able to multi-task at all! It only has 512MB RAM but i thought that would be enough, is it just that it is weak or is there are more serious problem? It is extremely annoying and slow to load aswell.
Please help if you can, so as i have something to tell the sales man when i go back to him with it!!
Please dont close this thread either until i find something out about this please??

Pre-packaged software (crapware more or less) running in the background is the killer of many a new PC, laptop or desktop. Have you connected it to the internet? You should check for spyware among other things as well. I would also reccomend a ram upgrade. Back in the day 512mb was just fine, but now go for a gig.

One last question, is it running Vista?

Thanks alot, i thought it may be something worse than just that. Yeah it is runing vista, but i think i far prefer my other laptop which uses XP.

Vista wants, neigh needs at least a gig of RAM. 512 is sort of sufficient for XP, but Vista will want 1GB a the very least.

Install another 512Mb Ram stick for £50 or less...

Or get XP and be free of all the stupid things that slow your computer down.


Believe me, anything below 2 Gb of RAM is useless with Vista...
