laptop problems

well i was at an hotel last night and i had my laptop on the bed in the case and i came into my room real late and picked up the laptop and dropped it on the floor, and it came out the case, it was'nt an high drop just off the bed, but now the screen won't work. I have my grandma's computer monitor hooked up to it to see if the hd was screwed up but everything is fine on the hard drive, its just the screen won't work.

Is their like a loose wire or something, and how much would it cost to get it fixed if i took it to some general computer store or bestbuy.

Just tap or hit the moniter a bit, it should start working.....if not, just go somewhere reliable to get it fixed.

i think that monitor has to be checked out. i'm thinking theres a pretty good chance the screen has to be replaced

Well, that depends on what your laptop is and where you go. Since you're in america, i can't offer many suggestions about where to get it fixed, but you might be able to get it fixed free if your warranty is still valid (just don't tell them you dropped it...). How old is your laptop, and what make/model is it?

the laptop is kinda outdated its an ibm t30 and i don't think its under warrenty, but if its under 100 bucks i am cool with it as long as it don't go past 100 dollars

Either find a certified repair shop on the manufacturer's website or have it fixed at BestBuy. It probably won't be very cheap, mind you.
