Any tips/setup on beating it? i have the '09 gtr spec v, as lightweight as i can get it and with power at 492...i lowered the ride height and switched the sway bars to get better rotation. any other tips? i am running mid 1:29's and am losing only be 4 or 5 seconds

Install the aero parts maybe? I was running about mid 1:27's when I beat it last night. I passed the Ford GT in the last chicane.

I ran a modified version of the Lions Den' setup for this car. I loosed it up quite a bit in the back to compensate for the lack of power. other than that just keep it slow in fast out. It's tough with the gtr because it luls you into thinking you can up your entry speed but it makes you pay with it's massive @ apex understeer.

Just keep it nice and smooth... for the most part I was in the gear that the selector suggested with the exception being the downhill SS's leading up to the hairpin and the right hand kink 2 turns after that. Other than that just focus on keeping the car in control and putting the power down. I managed to pass the GT40 with about 4 turns to spare on the last lap doing this.

thanks guys hopefully i have found my problem, through ignorance i believed i had to leave the Sport hard tires on, now i see most people put the soft on...that should pick me up a good bit

Just posting my question here since I'm not in front of the ps3. I'm using the GTR Proto but can I also use the older R34's?

I'm thinking they would be faster.

You can use a lot of different skylines. R34 works. But if you are having trouble you should switch to the v-spec '09, makes golding this challenge a breeze.

I've been using the R34 from the Dealership, I'm 12 sec's behind the 1st place car.

I just got gold with the Vspec from the new dealership. Made it light as possible and the max hp allowed. I turned skid recovery off and ABS at 1.

I'm using the old GT-R (R32) from 1989 and can only manage 8th, too much understeer mid corner for my driving style. Either need to work on the LSD or suspension or just give up and run the newer V-Spec grade car.

Another trick for using the V-Spec is to gear the tranny down to about 166 mph max. That should help slash a few seconds off of your total time.
