Before we had a button for Latest Posts, which is now gone. I see that I can access it from the main page, but is there not a quick button anymore?

Not really, though you can access your personalized news feed from the user drop-down menu.

Ok, thanks. Just one other thing, what size are the new avatars or are they the same?

They're the same, 120x120.

I don't want to make a new thread but maybe this can fall under the same category, is there no more my gtplanet, quick reference to check my subscribe threads? Or do I have to go through news feed/watched threads?

No. With the Alerts, Inbox, and User pop-up menu, all of the functionality of the "My GTPlanet" is provided on every page.
