lbpomg95's Set-Ups (All Set-Ups Done using DS3 Controller)
V16T_XKR-S SSRX.jpg
Welcome to my tuning garage. Since being on the forums, I've noticed that not many tuners set cars up for their maximum power, as many tune to a specific PP limit. I'm assuming I'm not alone in saying I enjoy blasting a Lamborghini Diablo GT around the track with 1,000BHP, so I've begun to create this index. While most set-ups will cover fully-tuned cars, others may vary. I enjoy stock cars, but have found many are a handful. Out of laziness, I've set many up with their official power ratings, but with suspension and L.S.D tuning. A few replicas and tamed-down racing cars (R8 LMS/Deltawing anyone?) will also feature.

Be aware, though, these are not the best set-ups possible for the cars listed. Other people on GTPlanet have spent much more time and effort than I have, and will have unsurprisingly better set-ups to offer. These are simply set-ups that have been made to keep the car in question more stable, or in the case of Front-Wheel-Drives, more agile. Think of them as more a base set-up. Most cars here have also been set up at Brands Hatch for it's compact, varied layout.

A quick note - Every car in this index will have had an Oil Change and Body Rigidity Improvement unless it is noted otherwise.

Another thing to remember for any car with a fully customisable transmission - before anything else, I always set the final gear ratio as high as it will go (high number = short gears), before changing the top speed.

My driving settings for all tunes are:
Driving Line: Off
Active Steering: Off
Traction Control: Off
Active Stability Management: Off
ABS: 1
Skid Recovery Force: Off
Controller Steering Sensitivity: +2

Here are my tunes, listed in order of their appearance in this thread (in their respective category).

Fully Tuned / SS Tyres
All cars in this list have ALL tuning parts installed (except Nitrous) unless it is noted otherwise. Most tunes here will likely be for the more difficult to drive cars, such as mid-engined supercars.
Chevrolet El Camino SS 396

Lamborghini Diablo GT2

Lotus Europa Special

Ferrari GTO

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Lancia STRATOS

Aston Martin One-77

Shelby Cobra 427

Ford GT40 Mk I

SRT Charger SRT8

Cizeta V16T

Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupe

Stock Power / SH Tyres
Finally got around to buying that awesome-looking STRATOS? Found it's impossible to drive, even stock? These set-ups consist of road cars with mostly standard parts, except for the Suspension and L.S.D, which have been tuned to make the car either more controllable or more agile. These tunes are typically for older cars.
Lancia STRATOS

Ford GT40 Mk I

Ferrari F40

RenaultSport Megane R.S Trophy

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4

Lotus Esprit V8

Ferrari GTO

Replica / SH Tyres
These tunes will have power and weight ratings of special edition cars, but much like the Stock Power tunes above, the suspension and L.S.D will be tweaked to make the car in question easier to drive.
Nissan 350Z GT-S

RenaultSport Megane R.S 275 Trophy-R

Alfa Romeo MiTo 1.4 TB MultiAir 170 Quadrifoglio Verde

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 SuperLeggera

Lotus Elise Sport 190 (Premium)

Fantasy Replica / SH Tyres
These will be 'replica' cars that I've made up. For example, imagine a GTA variant of the Alfa Romeo Brera. They are the "what if?" cars.

RenaultSport Clio R.S 230

Alfa Romeo Brera 3.2 GTA

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR Ralliart

BMW M4 GTS

Lexus IS F SportF

Set-ups without links have not been posted yet, but are coming soon.

I hope these set-ups help!

Tyre Killer Queen
The El Camino is, to say the least, very tail-happy. Especially with over 800BHP. This set-up should make it, at least, controllable, but still requiring good throttle control to keep it on the straight and narrow. It's tendency to wheel-spin in a straight line and fall into a tank-slapper has been reduced. Hopefully this should help those who want to drive this beast without losing it on every corner. I've used the Semi-Racing Exhaust because of the sound, and leaves the car with a rear-exit exhaust.

Notes

And this little piggy tore your arms off...
Due to the peaky nature of this car's power delivery, I've kept the standard clutch, as it pulls away easier. Due to the disgusting sound this car makes when fully tuned, I've sacrificed a whopping 23BHP and kept the Semi-Racing Exhaust on, which sounds much less terrible. When I first tried this menace with no suspension tuning, I couldn't even manage the first corner of Brands Hatch. Being a peaky 1,000BHP+ Mid-engined Lamborghini, it is still a bit unpredictable, and with this much power, almost all Rear-Wheel-Drive cars require some throttle control, so beware!

This is the first of my 'stock set-ups'. What this means is that the car has stock official BHP and kerb weight figures, but the suspension and L.S.D have been modified to make the car more accessible. The STRATOS is one of the most awesome looking cars ever built. It's also one of the hardest to drive. My set-up has deliberately kept some of the car's trademark oversteer, so that the car keeps its identity, if you will, but the car has been tamed down, so that it is much more controllable.

The Europa is one of my favourite cars, but with nearly 300BHP, it's not an easy car to drive. Or tune! I have seen many people complain on GTPlanet about this car's instability. I'd like to think this set-up has gotten rid of that to an extent. It still oversteers under hard acceleration in lower speed corners, so it still requires the driver to be awake.

The GTO is a classic. And with 860BHP, it's also psychotic. I'm hopeful that this set-up has made it at least a little easier to handle. It also has the Semi-Racing Exhaust, due to the horrific sound of the Racing Exhaust.

I like this car. It's very fast and has a shouty V8, and it's pretty easy to drive and tune. So why have I put it here? Because I like it. Still has a bit of power-oversteer, due to it being a Mercedes-Benz with nearly 900BHP.

As another stock set-up, this retains official BHP figures. The Ford is quite the car when you leave it near standard, if anything more fun than when fully tuned. It's surprisingly good even with completely standard set-up, so my set-up has simply made it a bit more smooth. Oversteer tendencies are similar to when stock, so there's some control needed, meaning there's still some challenge to the car.

You're facing the wrong way...
Yes, this is my second set-up for a STRATOS, but this one is (nearly) fully tuned. It has ballast weight (it was faster around Brands Hatch with the weight added!), and a Semi-Racing Exhaust, because it sounds rather cool compared to the rather horrific Titanium Exhaust. Worth the 10BHP sacrifice to me. This still has some power-oversteer in low-speed corners, but is very controllable.

POWEEEEER!
I have seen many a person complain about the One-77's handling on GT6, both stock and tuned. Quite rightly so. It's a complete pig, considering it's lighter than the DB9 and has wider tyres. With this set-up, it's still rather unresponsive, but at least it doesn't snap into power-oversteer quite as quickly!

Hi @lbpomg95, It's nice to see another tuner catering for Racing Soft tyres. I think there are a lot of players out there who use them and don't have a good enough variety of tuners to look to for RS tunes.

I wish you all the best with your thread and look forward to trying some of your set-ups too.

Thanks very much my good man - I had a very (admittedly half-hearted) look on the forums and only found the Duckpond Under the Mountain doing anything at all for RS tyres. I'm not the sort who competes at anything. I just play the game to enjoy it really. Hence the SH set-ups for stock cars, as well. In a game that doesn't really give you a great sense of speed, though, RS tyres can make it more fun. Not that I don't enjoy slower cars. Some are actually easier to set up on treaded tyres (GT40/Diablo). The Diablo GT2 on SS tyres and without a turbo is a fantastic car to drive, whereas it becomes an entirely different monster on RS.

The Cobra is scary fast in a straight line. It's even scarier under braking. This set-up has gotten rid of some oversteer, but with a near 1BHP/kg power to weight ratio, it's still going to require some throttle control. Good fun to drive, however.

I'm with you. I find the racing tyres to be a great laugh and they definitely present different issues when tuning compared to sports or comfort tyres. I love to drive with sports tyres in the career mode and online too, and there's certainly loads of great tunes out there for them. We just thought that we should focus on the RS tyres as no-one else really was at the time and there were a few disappointed people out there judging by some of the comments I'd read. But I do enjoy doing some tunes for seasonals too with Comfort or Sports Tyres, they can be really entertaining, I remember the Diablo well it was so much fun on the GVE seasonal with the SH on.

Anyway, I'm really glad that there's more choice for the RS fans now, it can only be a good thing as far as I'm concerned and it'll perhaps make the playing field a little more interesting on track too.

Another stock set-up, this time for the F40 (y'know, the one with the wrong specs?). This one has been fully lightened to represent the weight of the EU-Spec model (almost). I added 8kg ballast in order to keep the weight distribution at 40:60 (and because I like round numbers). Needless to say, it's not the boat it was stock, what with 230kg having been shaved off.

Notes

This Replica is for the current Nurburgring Front-Wheel-Drive lap record holder (September 2014). An extra 10BHP may make no difference but 100kg certainly does. Laps Brands Hatch Indy almost a second faster than its base model counterpart.

Did a 1:33.6xx at Brands Hatch Grand Prix with your GT40 tune. I dropped the turbo down to normal to take away some turbolag around tight corner, and limited the power to 600pp to qualify in career mode. Its a pretty stable tune for anyone with a little bit of throttle control around corners, but a blast to drive nonetheless. Thank you

Thanks for trying the tune! I think I managed around 1:25 with it, around the same as the Diablo GT2. One thing to make it less turbo laggy is to alter the final gear ratio depending on the max speed you reach on the given track.

Wow that's really fast! Thanks for the tranny tip, I'll try that. I didn't really pay attention to the top speed, I just figured at 600pp that 594hp (without turbo and lag) would give me a better shot than 582hp.

The turbo lag only really comes into play when you're running full power. If you've limited power by 300hp with the turbo still on it'll be if anything more responsive than without.

This Replica is for the (underwhelming) QV-Line of MiTos. But I figure they look a bit better and go a bit faster than the standard 1.4 T Sport, so why not replace it with this?

Notes

This stock set-up covers the Gallardo, which I found to have very strong oversteer under braking. I have removed some of that, so the car is now more controllable under entry, and understeers less on exit. The front ride height has also been lowered as this was another 'tail-dragger'.
