Le Mans 24h, Spec II Test Car, or other non-C class?

I tuned up a Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car last night, the intention is to complete the A-Spec 24h Le Mans race, over a couple days.
BTW, I noticed that a massive rear toe (+0.60) keeps the tail in line quite nicely, at an unknown expensive (tire wear maybe?)...

Looking for other car suggestions, must be a Premium car (not using bumper cam for 24 hours, in-car is actually quite nice when zoomed a little), and must not be an obvious group C Le Mans car.
The objective is to make the race difficult (non-boring) while not castrating a car's performance.
Can the 2J get it done? (I don't have one yet).

I tried a SuperVeloce, turns out it actually isn't fast enough on the straight... which kinda blew my mind after watching the TopGear episode about it.
Sadly, all the other cars I looked at are Standard... :(

The 2J isn't a premium car, so how would that meet your requirement?

I would imagine that a modified McLaren F1 would be quite competitive, not to mention the cockpit view is superb thanks to the central seating position.

And are you sure the SuperVeloce isn't fast enough in the straights? With a few modifications I've easily topped 220 in mine (though I'm not sure what speed you have in mind here).

Didn't look at the 2J details.. just recalled it being annoying in the historic stuff :)

SuperVeloce, seemed to only get up to about 206mph, and in general, it took too long to get to that speed... considering I can't drive it for beans, I figured tweaking it for more speed would terminate any chance of actually driving it around corners... on the other hand it seemed to have fantastic grip right up until it flew off the road... I noticed there's no wheel spinning screech, instead you get this very silent 'wooosh' sound which is actually the wheels slipping... why it sounds like that is a mind blower, because it sounds the same outside as inside the car...

A fully tuned SuperVeloce can pass 230 mph but I wouldn't use it for that race. The 2J gives me similar lap times to the ZR-1 RM and Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car. I'd use that Ford GT.

The Chaparral 2J has no headlights. It's IMPOSSIBLE to race that thing at night. :(

Well, on lap 11 with the Spec II and I had to pit on lap 8 while they pit on lap 10... so.. that's not good... also I was about 40 seconds back when I pit...
best lap time: 3:37
I think I need to shave about 5 seconds off this time AND improve my tire wear slightly.. push out another 2 laps..
:/
I might gain a lot in the rain... but I also might lose a lot at night with errors...
Attempt #1: Fail

Going to decrease rear toe & rear downforce... maybe gain some speed and improve tire wear slightly..

Edit: reducing downforce was bad... haha, maxed it now... 3:37-3:42 is all I can do.. that's with SRF on too... I'm not seeing any magical way to go faster, unless my camber and spring rates are really bad..
