Is it possible to use any of the classic 67 Le Mans racers(ford gt40 for example) and still be competitive with a proper tune? It's to easy with modern day LMP cars.

Are you saying you want to use the gt40 against the newer LMP cars?

Thats not going to happen, it will never have the required downforce to match the lmp corner speed

Im talking about if any classic Le Mans car can do it

It is possible if you can outlast them on pit stops, but their acceleration and cornering will probably be too much for 24 hours.

Man that sucks. The race is just to easy in an LMP.

I just gave the Ford Mark IV a go and it can out do most of the field acceleration wise. Top speed and cornering wise though, its pretty ****. The Pescarolo Judd and the Bentley Speed 8 outclass it by a pretty severe margin across the board, id imagine if one of them started ahead of you it would be impossible to catch up. That said, I think it would be possible to win but you got to do some very serious blocking and cut through the sand in the chicanes.

Maybe... In my opinion it's quite hard for outdated race cars to equally cope with the newer LMP cars in view of response and body consolidation required to gain quicker rotating speed, no matter they get fully tuned so that they can outpower against them in horsepowers and weight.

And if you're bothered to go with an LMP car matching other counterparts in performance.

But the problem is even with a detuned LMP it's just that the AI is very slow in the corners, and way to cautious.
