learning to drift.

well i been toyin around an stuff and im learning slowly. do you really have to have a wheel to actaully drift long and make vids like the ones ive seen?

Well not if you are driving 4WD, but anything FR or RR or MR you will probably need a wheel to exploit the full potential of your drifting skill. I have seen some excellent FR drifting using the controller, but the same can be done with less skill if a wheel is being used. With out the wheel you can still do the same things as you see in the vids but not as consistent, nor will it will it look as smooth because the wheels will not be held at a, more or less, constant angle.

well im trying to use a silvia aero (s15) and well i sorta am sliding but when i do i slide and well completely spin or hit a wall and its frustrating. any help?

I would say VCD set at 50/50 with sim tires and someone else might say VDC set at 10/90 with super softs, but everyone has TCS and ASM set to zero or very low. Settings are a very individual thing; just experiment and you will develop your own.

go slower... lifting off the gas in a drift usually causes the rear wheels to grip and slows your angular(rotational) velocity while more power will cause it to rotate more. Sometimes if you lift off the gas completely it will cause a lot of compression and will cause the rear wheels to lose traction but this does not really happen in high angle drift (the ones you spin out in).
