any ideas as to how to tune the mazda for the other time trial, i'm up to 230th (ish) with a 1:32.2

You're still here lefty, I wondered where you went. But seems like you didn't go anywhere, which is good. I'm not the rally racer but my first time doing this run I set a 2:00 something with the Mitsubishi Super Rally Car. I used the Turbo upgrade though, I guess I should try it with the engine stage 3?
 
Yah I’ve been waiting for something that could show my real skills and this track is it. I am going to post a video showing two laps that just look so cool and are like in the 1:57+ range. The off road stuff is what makes sense to me because it’s WFO. My tunes really do keep the car stable so all you have to do is set the corner half way down the straight and hold her wide open……… lol

Hi everyone, as this is turning out to actually be a positive and collaborative forum for SE9: I firstly would really like to thank LeftyWrighty for sharing the car set-ups as so many don't. I'm a complete plank when it comes to tuning. As for the Eiger, I finally broke into the 1:56 times today. However, it can;t see where you can shave another two seconds off to get into the top 10:scared: They are bloody fast drivers:bowdown::bowdown:

I Will really work on the Mazda race now; I will share any car set-ups that help; although if I do it's because I stumbled on a good set-up by chance:idea:

As for the Eiger; that long double right turn after the long downhill section is killing me; you either bit the breaking point or lose a lot of time.


Hope this helps (p.s. I felt that just using Engine stage 3 with no turbo reduced wheel spin and improved my time)

I'm in the 1:32.2's myself, haven't tried since this afternoon. (MX5 TT) I'm trying for a better tune. better turn in, it sucks using the controller and having to countersteer the spinning rear tires, darn comfort softs.

sorry posting here way too much.

For what it's worth, I tired the Eiger with stage 3 engine and with Turbo 1 (i think it gave a bit of extra kick when going uphill). Shaved half a second off with this, 1:56.1 something

Hi again, had some free time so I gave the Mazda TT a go: Took a 1:36.661 (206th) with the following set-up
Transmission (auto): so it will be faster with manual!

Controller sensitivity: 7 (i use DS3 directional buttons)

Aero: 20
Engine: stage 3
Turbo: Stage 1
Gear Top Speed 124

Hope this helps, but I had Davey_skillz ghost always in front of me. The car turns so quickly when he needs it to!! I just don't how to get the Mazda to do that

A very solid lap Mr P, your video from the car point of view is very self explanatory. I know that your time is faster then my time but my video looks more WFO......lol. I'll overlay your setup w/ my setup to see where your method of going fast applies to your tracking style compared to my flat tracking, hung out method :)

Not happy at all here 👎 spent a significant amount of time getting myself into 2nd place clean as a whistle at Eiger G only .1 away from 1st place after work in the wee small hours of this morning.

Only to be demoted to 3rd whilst i slept by some spanish guy who smashes his car off the wall to slow down at the awkward right hander halfway through the course :ouch:

PD please fix the damn penalties in this game as some of the replays I see after your supposed boundaries fix are disgusting! not even a red time for a 100mph - 0mph collision 👎👎👎

Get it fixed please! I intend to go back and improve but for what? some other wall banger to knock me down again? please allow the game to at least have some kind of skill factor in the Rally events, we can all use the walls to brake but don't it look sloppy! cheating sons of a thousand fathers :lol: :rolleyes:

Yah I noticed that also, right between the last two turns you can burmshot the fence. I found that out by accident, the problem w/ that is it ruins the replay for the movie when you don't pull off the full two turn 180 degree button hook slide w/ rocket launch on exit.....lol.

I tried yours MR P and found it difficult to control, so went back to this one.

It's sad that the leader is banging into the walls and not falling off the edge of the cliff :grumpy:
I can stay about 1.5 car lengths in front of him until about midway down the steep slope, then he gets about a second on me around the difficult right hander at the bottom. I hope PD use the replays to review the time trials to improve in the future.

BTW Lefty, i don't have a GTP in my PSN ID but i'm representing GTP 👍

Yo "side", Dude your a rocket ship and you dig the forum so why not step up and fire up a "GTP_" PSN ID so you can "Represent". You might even stumble over to the WRS and want to sink your fangs into some of your fellow enthusiast and go for the "Bragging Rights".

Hardly, usually struggling around 50th, but I think the rally events let you get away with being 'less tidy' than the track/tarmac events. Usually end up being about 1.5secs off the pace on the track events. And as you can see I have no idea about tuning, even been told before my tunes are weird :sly:

You can still play along in the weeklys to see where you would place by running the weeks challenges and look at your splits to see where you would place during the week, you can also see the final times after they post the winners. Until they reopen the Reg. and in the interum you can start to get a feel for how the program works, I totaly dig the different challenges. 👍
