Quick question about the Bodnar box, I searched but couldn't find an answer... I am interested in buying one of the strand alone pedal units to get the better resolution but there is one problem. Is there any way to have it set up to where you can run the wheel with the Bodnar box on the PC and quickly and easily make it work for PS3. I don't want to have to unbolt my wheel every time to unplug the pedal connector from the Bodnar box and then connect it back up to the actual wheel. Do they make an extension cable I could run to the bottom of my rig.. That way I could just unplug one, and plug it right into the other.......Thanks in advance

Do you mean you want to be able to switch the wheel USB from your PC to PS3 as well as have the pedals switching from the wheel housing and the Leo standalone pedal cable? For the former, some USB extenders would work, or you could have a KVM switch but that's much more expensive. For the pedals you could make a pedal splitter quite easily from the appropriate DB9 connectors, cables and a switch.

A regular serial extension cable (DB9) will work... However, since (I assume) you're using either a G25 or G27, your pedal connector is in your wheel base's bottom. You're going to have a hard time finding a serial cable extension that doesn't have a big connector. You could drill a whole in your wheel deck to get around this issue.

The only solution I found to the problem was to stop racing on ps3. Now that I got triple monitors the ps3's days of racing are over. :)

Or you could make your own connector out of a connector and some epoxy, that way you're left with a very small connector. I saw someone in another thread who hacksawed a corner off the connector to get it to fit, too.

I have to admit, though, GT5 is the only thing worth playing on the PS3 (with a wheel, I mean) and even then it's hard to justify spending much time or effort getting it to work with a PC-based setup. Everything else I said after this was way too off-topic, but I too am joining the triple monitor club soon.

I could draw a schematic for a simple pedal switch if you want, Rabbitude, it would be pretty easy to make if you know how to solder.

Ill try my local electronics store to see if they have one of those extensions that may work and go from there. I may have to rig something up. Thanks again.. ill keep you guys posted..

This is what I used when I was using a G27 wheel. If you use a load sensor based brake, make sure you don't buy an old 2nd hand Bodnar cable that requires wire swapping for the brakes.

Here's one on Ebay. Of course, you need an extra serial cable to go with it too.

BTW, I think I'm the guy who did the hacksawing. :) https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5897370#post5897370
