It's nice at the Ring on sports soft... but not on normal race tracks... the shorter, medium speed bends seem to suit it.

I found the softs really easy... but I'd been running a lot of laps on hards, so it felt like it had loads of grip when I switched

You gotta be running a killer setup, I want!! I'm trying to get my setup to run 6:10 for the moment >.>

My tune on page 1 of this thread will run sub 7 minutes on sports hards (video on page 1) and sub 6.30 on sports softs.

I'd think it's likely those will run sub 6 minutes on race softs if it will run those times on sports tyres... might need a few tweaks, but should be broadly OK.

to be honest, on hards, it's difficult to feel a lot of the adjustments as the power just overwhelms the grip!

Ain't that the truth. The less grip the tire has the less sensitive it is to tuning adjustments.

Very impressive run using such a low tire grade. I looked over your set up too, I didn't see if you had ABS on or not. Not as impressive if ABS was used, but impressive still.

Now those times with all assist off on the same tires, would be monumental.

I think that depends on the driver... I find it easier to tune on lower grip tyres as I can feel the changes more effectively.

I always run with ABS on as it's very difficult to find the grip threshold with the limited feel offered by the pedals that come with even a quality wheel like the G27.

No other assists though :)

Definitely driver's choice. It's odd to me you find it easier to tune with less sensitive compounds, but if that's what you like it's all good.

Certainly a quick time none the less.

I'm sure with the amount of throttle control you have & 0-ABS tuned brakes, you could do some quick laps with no ABS and some practice. Might have to adapt your braking style a bit, but it certainly would be challenging on those tires. I wonder if sub 7min would be possible.

I'm going to try your tune then try to integrate it with mine, I'll post both results!!! btw I wonder if Poly designed this car so people had to actually tune this car because its so boss >.>

I meant, I wonder if they setup the car to be like that on purpose so it can be tuned to what it should be originally, it was suppose to be GT1 I believe.

From what I've rear the life version is a death trap.

Yep, exactly right - why do people think it was never put on sale to the public??

There's been a few threads on this already - as mentioned, it was a death trap. TVR's were notorious for not going round corners, great in a straight line, but as soon as you meet a bend, you better slow down and take it easy. The Speed 12 was one of the worst - so much power and torque with so much weight at the front and so little weight at the rear. Recipe for disaster - it did race in the British GT championship, but even with race mods and slicks it wasn't too good there either, not sure if it raced in the FIA GT World championship though. I think the Lister Storm kicked it's ass in the British GT and the Speed 12 was subsequently put in the safest place possible, retirement.

Lotus's are the ones that go round bends - it's just a shame in real life after every bend (and having the time of your life) something will fall off the car before the next bend.

Build quality was not high on the agenda for both of these companies. Late model Lotus's tend to be better now, but for a long time they both had a terrible reputation for things breaking.

Shame, I love the Esprits on GT5, premium V8 '02 and standard 350 are superb cars. 👍
