Let's flesh out the car list together!

As we all know by now, GT7's car list, while pretty sizeable on paper, is still sorely lacking in a lot of ways. So I thought I could run a thread where we pick a certain brand (either in the game or not) and flesh out the numbers, hopefully getting a much better car list by the end of it.

The rules are simple. You can add up to 10 production cars, 5 race cars, and 3 concept cars for any particular brand into the game. Meaning 18 in total for each brand. With that said, let's get things going!

I'll start with Audi, a brand with shockingly few road cars in GT7. Here are the Audis I'd add to the game:

Road

  • Sport quattro '83
  • RS2 Avant '95
  • RS6 Avant '08
  • RS4 '08
  • S1 '14
  • RS3 Sportback '15
  • RS5 Coupe '15
  • R8 V10 Performance '20
  • TT RS '21
  • RS4 Avant '22

Race

  • A4 DTM '04 (Gr. 3)
  • R10 TDI '06 (Gr. 1)
  • RS3 LMS TCR '18 (Gr. 4)
  • RS5 Turbo DTM '19 (Gr. 2)
  • R8 LMS GT4 '20 (Gr. 4)

Concept

  • Rosemeyer '00
  • Le Mans quattro '03
  • A1 clubsport quattro '11

I'm looking forward to seeing what some of you lovely people have in store for GT7!

I know there are loads more, but these are the ones deffo missing imo.

Race

935 76 (Martini ver, but any of the American versions would be welcome too: Coca Cola, Budweiser, Apple, the Paul Newman Hawaiian Tropic 79 LM P2 car would be one I’d personally love to see)
935 78 Moby D
936
Not sure the model, but Vic Elford’s 911 from Monte 68
959 Dakar 86

Concept

Meh... can’t I have three more racers?

917 ‘Pink Pig’ LM 71
904 winner Japan GP (67? Though that’s prob the wrong year, will check later...)

I had some thoughts on which Ferrari models I'd add to GT7. For those that could be returning from prior GT games, I'd definitely pick the SP1, and potentially the Enzo-based FXX, too. We also know the 599 and 430 Scuderia are in the supposedly leaked car list - though I'd imagine there could be tons of other cars coming that aren't necessarily in that list. As for the California, I'd rather have its successor, the Portofino, though I'd be fine with the original California returning. Then there were the F2007 and F10, but I highly doubt those will return considering the factor of F1 licensing. So here are my picks for Ferrari models that would be new to Gran Turismo:

Road-Going
F355
360 Modena
550 Maranello
GTC4Lusso
488 GTB
296 GTB
SF90
Sergio (Why yes, I am a Pininfarina fanboy, how could you tell?)
Daytona SP3

Racing
488 GT3 (I hear it was very successful.)
296 GT3
[TBA LMH Racer] (Gr.1)
F40 LM (Gr.3)

Then there were my Lamborghini picks. The supposed leaked car list says that the Gallardo will be returning, though I'd also like it if the Murcielago SV also returned from the PS3-era. Then there's the JGTC-era Diablo, which could be a neat alternative pick for Gr.3. Finally, the Reventon could be a nice addition, if only because I view it as a link between the Murcielago and Aventador. Otherwise, here are my picks:

Road-Going
Miura SV (If only to have a much more affordable version of the Miura, whereas the only one we have so far is a pre-production prototype.)
Aventador S (I think it looks a bit better than the original iteration of the Aventador.)
Espada (Didn't we spot PD taking a look at one of these?)
Sian FKP 37
Diablo SV (Pre-facelift, since the Diablo GT we have is based on the post-facelift model.)
350 GT (The original!)

Racing
[Possible LMDh racer?] (Gr.1)

Lotus

Road

  • Lotus Esprit HCI
  • '89-92 Lotus Esprit SE - yes, specifically these years. Can go a step further and have body customization for the Sport 300 and/or windowless hatch. Additional gold star for including a customization for the high wing. I would also include the V8 but they have been in a lot of games and it would be more interesting to just allow a swap with the Audi V8 or similar.
  • Lotus Europa S2 or 3 - Bonus for including a 13B engine swap
  • Elan or Elan+ or Shooting Brake
  • Elise S1 - inlcude a K20 engine swap
  • Whatever other year Elise or Exige - possible engine swap with the toyota 3.5L(or6?) if added. Pretty sure one model of the Exige had this engine but would rather start with the Toyota sourced 4.
  • Probably some year of the Evora GT
  • Maybe the Evija or Emira or both eh....
  • Radford Lotus Type 62 - Not technically Lotus but still awesome.
  • Lotus Carlton

Race

  • Lotus Esprit X180R, GT300 or GT1
  • Lotus Europa Type 62
  • Lotus 17 or similar
  • Probably something newer like the Evora or Emira race cars
  • Elise/Exige race car

Concept

  • There are a couple of electric/hybrid concepts that could fall under VGT like the E-R9

*Small Edit. Realized I only had 9 road cars and added the Carlton

I'm pleased to see this thread quickly gaining traction! Keep it going people, I love to see it.

It seems I've been beaten to the BMW punch. 😂

Concept

Ermm most of their concepts are kind of boring except for the 360c, but that's a autonomous car so it doesn't work for Gran Turismo I think...But maybe a VGT based on it? The design looks like something that PD and Kaz would like to see in the game I guess

How are people not getting this?

Five of eleven responses (other than the person who created the thread) haven't stuck to this pretty simple rule.

If people stick to it, the thread stays. If people don't and it just devolves into the usual "name a bucketload of cars" wishlist, it doesn't.

Pontiac/Buick/Oldsmobile

I’m going to slightly bend the rules here, by combining 3 smaller car brands from GM that would never get 10+ cars in GT on their own. Two of them are defunct brands as well, so it's pretty unlikely that they could get like 18 cars to themselves in a GT game. I excluded Cadillac because someone could probably come up with enough Cadillacs on their own (in light of their Le Mans participation).

Production cars:
-1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
-1987 Buick Grand National GNX
-1988 Pontiac Fiero GT
-2012 Buick Regal GS
-1969 Oldsmobile 442
-1962 Buick Special SEMA Edition (from GT4)
-1994 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight LSS
-1966 Oldsmobile Toronado
-2006 Pontiac GTO
-2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP

Race Cars:
-2007 Pontiac G6 GXP-R (Gr.4 or Gr.3)
-2007 Pontiac Solstice Red Bull Racing (Gr.B or Gr.3)
-1962 Tojeiro-Buick LeMans Prototype (no group, made to compete with the other '60s LM cars)
-2006 Pontiac SunTrust Racing Daytona Prototype (Gr.2)
-2001 Oldsmobile Aurora GTS-1 (Gr.4 or Gr.3)

Concept Cars:
-1964 Pontiac Banshee Concept
-2022 Buick Wildcat EV Concept
-1954 Oldsmobile F-88 Concept
