Amazing how it started out in 2008... 17th of December 2009.
 
Since GT5 isn't showing at GameCon, I'm now guessing 9 February 2010.

Also wasn't it said a while back that GT PSP and GT5 are going to be released together?, we already have the PSP release date 1st october 09
 
Well not long left, im guessing by the end of tomorrow we all shall find out, it may be dissapointment for some i.e 2010 release which i feel is unlikely or to the celebrations of most when the game gets a release within the next few months.

I think it will release this year, here is why:

  • Sony has moved all their other big releases to next year
  • Someone at 1up.com has inside knowledge about a huge Sony exclusive game that is releasing this year - contrary to what many didn't expect. The hints given imply a racing game - and Mod Nation Racers is the only other racing game exclusive to Sony - and that has been confirmed for next year
  • There are tons of gaming sites and insiders claiming that it will release this year and around Nov-Dec time frame
  • Sony has a 3-hour press conference tomorrow at the GamesCom in Cologne, Germany. 3-hours is way too long to only reveal/discuss the few games they have announced will be shown - there are bound to be surprises. ;)
  • Kazunori Yamauchi has stated several times that the game is ready to release at any time - but there are always tweaks and little adjustments that could be made to further perfect the game
  • The release window of this Holiday season is perfect - regardless of the PS3 Slim coming out or not. Sony gets it's biggest title out this year and in direct competition with Microsoft's racer, Forza 3
  • The Logitech G27 Racing Wheel is supposed to hit the market in September - just 2 months prior to the suspected release of Gran Turismo 5. Isn't that what always happens? ;)

We forgot that Jordan has also hinted that "we will like Gran Turismo 5's Release date".

Well to be honest I will be happy with "a release date". I will surely "like" the date if it is this year.

Lol, goes to show how things can escalate into beleived facts when speculation spreads.
 
So Based on the predictions.




amar predicted to be wrong, we all know 2009 and early 2010 should be realse date, unless may 2011 is final for patches and DLC, PD promised ONE year for online support for patches and DLC, at least. So After all pachings and DLC, that is a FINAL GAME.
