Second week of July I think, so 5-10th July (depending on the day, games are usually launched in Japan.

Geez, what about GT7? Don't want that to come out before GT5... wait, never mind :P

Delayed for PS4 as 3D doesn't work well in PS3! Around 2012
The delay is for Sony's profit only!
At that time, we cannot help but paying USD 900 to buy a PS4, squandering USD 3000 for a 3D TV and play this damned GT5 which is only for 3D TV. This will boost Sony's profits!
But, I would suggest that Sony launch GT5 immediately and every half a year, release a new version, e.g. GT6 at the end of this year, GT7 next year. They will make handsome profits! Why not? F.....F.... Sony

Don't think that'll work. Haven't you heard of Quality of Quantity?
GT4 --> GT5 is a long time. And NFS: Most Wanted --> NFS by Criterion is also a long time. But there has been 1 game between GT4-5 (GTPSP), and *counts on fingers* 7 (if you incude Nitro, and World) between NFS:MW and NFS:Criterion.
NFS is awesome, i'll give it that. But GT must be waaaayy better than awesome if that is so.

Do you believe in the tooth fairy or something? You certainly seem to give credence to a lot of crazy rumors, as well as your own fears based on little or nothing. ;)

Forza 3 is just seven months old. I know that its sales are slowing, but that happens with all Forzas. There's a huge initial rush, and then it trickles. So it's going to be around two years or so before we see a Forza 4. And even if they did release a Forza 4 this year, it might have the DLC cars included, and maybe 10 or 20 more, and a couple of new tracks. And the same 8 car races.

If we see anything of Forza 4, it's going to be a CG video, and I thought when Kaz showed CG movies rather than in-game video, that was a bad thing...
 
It has been two years now since gt5p. No hard date for the real gt5, just sometime 2010. Do you think maybe we will get gt5p 2 first? Lol jk trying to make the best of this long wait.
 
By the time GT5 is released, the WRC game will be out with 2010/11(?) season cars... that is sure to make GT5's WRC lose it's appeal.

I've tried to play GT5:P recently, but I just can't. It's very short and is now boring. It in no way represents the real GT5 anymore. I miss some proper GT action, buying my first GT car from a used showroom and tuning it up while slowly earning money seems like a distant memory. :( I've been playing Forza 3 recently, and while it is a good game, it isn't as polished as GT and doesn't have the same magic feeling I get when I play a GT game.

When it 'arrives' I will buy it; as well as F1 2010, and Supercar Challenge (if made available through psn as their rep stated to me).

Until then I will play GT5p online and occasionally Ferrari Challenge (offline).

I will no longer pine about when it will happen; I will just make sure I have the money to buy first day available!

It would be awesome, but it's very unlikely. Less than two months to this supposed release date and there's no move from Sony or PD in promoting their best selling exclusive?

Whys it unlikely?

  • We have had previous reports/rumours of a possible Summer 2010.
  • GT5 is to be one of the 1st 3D games, why would it release 4-6 months after Sonys 3DTV sales begin?
  • Games like GOW3 / Killzone 2 have not had several months apart for different countries like previous GT games have. GT5 is likely to follow Killzone 2 etc and offer an almost global release.
  • Sonys 3DTVs are going on sale USA/Europe/Japan regions starting mid June with some models end of June & July.
  • Sony are filming the World Cup in 3D and although not transmitted in 3D to all countries as a sponsor the World Cup could be a fantastic global platform to advertise their 3DTVs and even GT5. This is a massive global advertising oppertunity for them.
  • Release of GT5 in summer doesnt interfere with sales of Move and sales of other forthcoming titles for Q4.

Think about it if you were planning to release GT5 for maximium exposure then doing that with the promotion of 3DTVs, E3 Expo and using the WC starting the same month are all quite valid points.

If however the game still isnt ready then it isnt ready but why then was it announced to release in March in Japan if indeed it wasnt close to being finished and actually releases in Q4 now instead.

To me more things point to Summer being a possibility release window than Q4 does.
Also typically PD dont do much actual advertising promoting their games until about a month before release.
