This software is proof on how computers and photo/object recognition don't combine. I saw a tv show a while back where they were trying to find a way to get a computer to distinguish a dog from a cat, a very simple task for humans, however as it turned out nigh on impossible for computers.
All this software could actually do is tell you if your face is of completely abnormal shape, of which you probably would have already known.
Interesting concept though, and good for abit of vanity.
Not calling you guys dumb. There's too many variables that alter your score and the criteria the programmer set for this was likely based on a single source of the "perfect" face shape. Miss by a few pixel and like that "your face is no longer symmetrical".
I saw a short segment on the TV once where they would 'calculate' how beautiful a person looks. I think it was on E! News. They would take measurements of a persons face, much like this program does, and determine how 'beautiful' a person looks based on certain criteria of what is considered 'beautiful'. It's proven to be in accurate though because a runway model scored badly on it while some old dude did very well on the test.
