Hey,

I know that alot of people on the board doesnt like me alot or simply hate me, but the reasons still unknown for me. Since I very like this board, the staff and some members, I want to keep it up here, but I sometimes I quit because I find that people are agressive and stupid towards me. I was wondering and I want to know what you guys thinks of me. I want to know what are the bad points so I could improve myself to be a better member of this board.

Just be frank. And please, dont post if you are only to post ****s like: "you cant improve anything, just never come back here" or "you suck ****, go away"... That type of **** is just useless and proves that YOU NEED to improve your temper...

I don't hate you, i'm just the worst poster in the history of posting on internet messageboards ever.
 
I... don't know you. But that's okay, most people don't know me. And I've been here 4 friggen' years! :D
 
OK, I'm going to keep a close eye on this thread. If it gets out of line from either side it will get recycled in a heartbeat. We usually don't allow threads about specific members unless they are news-related. However, since the original poster offered it in a spirit of self-improvement, it will stay open for now.

I've noticed that some people (well, one person in particular) has a problem with your country of origin and english speaking skills. The best thing to do is just ignore him .. he'll get himself banned eventually as his behaviour is getting unacceptable.

Just keep on keepin on and don't cause trouble :D:tup:

I don't recall having come across you in any of the forums I frequent on GTP. I therefore have obviously had no problems with you that I can remember.

I think the best thing for you to do is be yourself and if certain people are always bothering you because of your language skills or grammatical skills or whatever, just put them on your ignore list and keep on truckin'!
 
Just be yourself mate. Don't worry about other people. Express your opinion, and say what you like as long it doesn't break the TOS you'll be fine. I started here a few years ago, made a few threads which I wish I hadn't. I don't really post much (currently at 700 I think), just do a lot of reading. You'll gradually learn the forum etiquette.

The what makes the forum so good, different opinions from different people.
 
I don't really know you either, but I've just scanned some of your posts and I can't see any reason for anyone to disslike you, people will dissagree with you on some thing's, that's bound to happen. If you find someone in particular seems to be out to wind you up, send them a PM or something, politely asking them to stop. If they don't, then look to the mod's, that's one of the thing's they're here for. I honestly can't see anythng blatantly wrong about any of the posts I've read of your's that could turn people against you. The biggest thing I noticed was in the Network adapter thread, but that's a small thing and you'll get used to RI. One thing you will learn though from time on here is how to seperate the joke's from the real better, mainly by getting to know the regular poster's and you get an idea for what thing's they're more likely to say. You'll never get it 100% right, but some members will say something jokingly that can be taken the wrong way without inserting a smiley or something to show it's not serious. I think that's all that's happened here.
 
Don't know ya, probably never will know ya, so how could I have a problem with ya? The way I figure it, if you alienate everybody on a message board, then whats the point of visiting the site. Better, and easier to just get along and keep the place going.
Honestly though, if you want to better yourself, learn to ignore people, especially on message boards. In real life its different, but on a message board, they're just words, and thats all they'll ever be. If you see someone posting mean things or whatever, put them on your ignore list, or just skip past any comments they make, and poof, they no longer exist to you, and everyones happy. Simple as that.

I think you are fine. I DO know a few people that dislike you, but everyone has their way of posting and if people don't like it, just ignore them. Just as long as you're keeping to the TOS as pimpin_t explained. ;)

Dude - We all hate you - You know that !.. But it's mostly because you suck at Anagrammatic !...

I guess if you show everybody curtesy and treat people as "mates until proven otherwise" you will have a good time. Everybody on GTP has my friendship until proven otherwise, this may not mean i respect them lots or trust them, it just means i will act in a friendly manner towards them which 99% means they are friendly back, once i get to know that person better my respect and trust increases.

Im nearing 3 years on GTP and i have no enemies that i know of.

If you do feel however feel there is one or 2 people on your back, go to a mod, they are there to help. :)👍
 
Thanks guys for your answers, I really appreciate that :)

So I have to talk about some things mentionned up the thread. First of all, I think I always been myself since I've been here. Thats for sure I have "multiple personnalities" if we can call that this way. Sometimes I am really "party guy" and I just mess around, say whatever I want to say and ****s like that. Sometimes I'm a LITTLE more mature than that but still loose. I really changed alot since the last time I decided to quit GTP and I think thats what makes differences since I've come back. So just judge by yourself :)

Now, as far as my english goes, I know I'm repeating myself alot, but I'm not english native. I'm a french Quebeker. I learned my english over the net, tv and music. Most of my english been learned when I was playing RuneScape. So, I know I'm not 100% understandable or that I'm not always writing correctly, but the basic is there. Also, I myself, remarked that I abuse of some words (the word "as" is a pretty good example), but I "build" my sentences based on the words that I think they sounds great. Since I dont know alot of "intelligence quality" words, I use the words I know. Sorry if sometimes I'm unclear, but just tell me to be more clear.

Then, I know that alot of people dont like my country, and I dont like it myself. I just really dont care about this, I'm USA wannabe all the way lol... Also, if the fact that I'm Canadian affects the way you like me or the way you see me, than its not my problem. BUT, please be kind to me, and respect me as a person, not as a Canadian.

I'm a guy who can understand easily, so if I get off the track (off-topic), if I get alittle out of myself (or out of control), if I accidentally slow-chat (I'm not conscious that I do sometimes), please just tell me friendly. For example, send me a PM with the message I did wrong. I'm respectful alot and I respect anybody's opinions/choices. Oh, and I'm a believer in God :)


I think its pretty much me. Finally, I'll say that if you guys have any problems with me, just PM me, its the best way to keep it civilised (ew, dunno if that word is correct).

Mugen, one thing that might hekp with regards to the language barrier, is to change your location to Quebek or something to show everyone, in every post that your not a native English speaker. No every member will come into this thread, and not every memer that comes into here will read that last post of yours. I had no idea you wern't English, which on the bright side means your English might not be as bad as you think.
