For one, anyone who is open minded never calls themselves open minded. We never said that when people talk about imports its closed minded, your the one who said that were are the ones who said that is closed minded when we didnt say that. If you dont like what we are talking about, just leave, instead of causing frustration for the rest of us...

Please quote me where I am saying that I am any more openminded than anyone else here.

And I believe it was milefile who said I was closedminded for talking about imports. So I dont have a clue what your trying to get at besides I'm doing a good job at pissing you off.

My personal favorite would have to be the 26b 4-rotor found in the 1991 Le-Mans winning Mazda 787B, which is the reason rotories are outlawed in the prestigious 24 hour race. Also, over 700 hp from a naturally aspirated 2.6 liter and well over 1000 in twin-turbo form. Like they say the only replacement for displacement is technology.

Which means more things to fix (even though they are suppose to fix things) and to worry about...

Ok I know your going to be pissed but I'm not messing with you..... Arent rotaries supposed to have alot less moving parts than an internal combustion engine? Less moving parts usually means less wear and such although I know this is not always the case.

The rotaries SHOULD have less to fix, but the apex seals don't last long enough unnder the severe pressure, and can cause a good deal of damage if broken. Also, the eccentric shafts are known to sometimes not be strong enough on 3 and 4 rotors.

There's nothing like the off-idle, rheostat-like squirt of a big block.
They're great for the street, no muss, no fuss. Seemingly civilized, but brutal in their low end.
Traction can be a problem, but sometimes this problem looks cool and can be quite fun.
400HP can get almost anything to go fast enough to land you in: jail, the hospital or___ the morgue.
If you can have your fun at (relatively) low speeds, the better your chances of avoiding them.

Well I don't really care for rotary motors. I like my motors to have pistons and such. Plus rotaries aren't easy to work on. But hey to each is own

Im trying to think whats Chevy's new race engine a 572? Errr trying to think...I seen it on Speed a few nights ago.

A little addition to the 454 stats. LS6's were purposly underated in the hp department by GM. They were actually pushing closer to 450 hp.

I think your alittle confused...... The LS6 is a 350.

Nope. I'm not confused at all. I know 454s. Do a search for LS6 and see what you turn up.

OK. Here is the absolute first website I looked up.
http://www.idavette.net/hib/ls6/page3.htm

LT-1 is the 350 that powered the previous generation Camaros, Firebirds, Impala SS', Caprice Classics, Caprice police vehicle. Overly noticeable is the gear driven water pump as opposed to the more normal belt driven style.

LS6 is the slightly stronger variant of the LS1.

LS1's are used in the newest body style Camaro's, Firebirds.
LS6's are used in the C5 Corvette Z06's.

There are also Firebirds and Camaros with LS6 motors in them

And hey I got a L3U so I feel special :D

The original LS6 engine code refers to a 454.
I recall reading somewhere that they were gonna re-use that option code number. I think it was R & T.

the LS6 was a 454? dang, something new you learn everyday, I tought it was a 427 O_o but anyway, it was a brute. as for the ZL1, I remember reading some stuff about those engines... they were slow on the low end, but once hoooked, hang on tite! that is weird. Id love to find one and breathe into it (:
also, I think that the 440 Max Wedge six packs are scaping us. I dont know if any of you read hot rods article on the first drag tests of one of those things, but hell... 12.7something in 1969, completely (or so they said) stock? >.< that is fast even now....

Hmm, I went to the V8 International today at Pukekohe. These Holdens and Fords are running 5 litre V8's (not sure which ones, the Holdens are probably 302's seeing as they're GM) pushing 650HP NA. They redline at about 7500rpm and when geared right when racing at Bathurst they hit 295km/h before hitting the anchors. Even though they're fuel injected they're still pretty goddamn rumbley at idle, but they're simply amazing...

In the GT class they had a 911, WRX, Holden Monaro (new) and an old Ford Falcon. All of them were pushing 600 - 700hp and the Monaro had an 8 litre V8 transplanted into it, simply ****ing amazing to hear and watch, pity I couldn't get many pictures of them, they we're too fast and the picture ended up all blurred out :(

Are the WS6's and SS's equipped with an LS6? I always thought they were LS1's. Sorry bout that big block small block mix up...... I worked at a Chevy dealer...... LS6= Take the motor out at 10k and put new piston rings on here becuz its guzzling the oil that we charge 7-8 dollars a quart for.

I want to put an 2004 LS6 in a 71 Camaro. with 6 speed, and hotchkiss suspension. 17 inch americans and... 13 inch brembos. yes, that is what I want. orange paint with white stripés. a black interior with a full cage and autometer gauges. that will do.

Why in the world would someone do that? The only reason I say this is because LS6's arent exactly easy to come by nor are they cheap......... I dont think many ppl are going to shell out thousands and thousands of dollars for the same displacement motor when they could spend a mere two grand maybe to get the LS1 on par with them. Take a set of 4.11 gears shove them in, maybe a nice 300 dollar intake manifold, and some slightly sticky rubber on there and you got your self a Z06 hunter....... or you could be like the guy I worked with and miss a shift.... overrev your poor LS1 and have to rip it open and just shove a beefy camshaft down the things throat while your in there.

i wanna get a nice engine you my living room table
