Level 20 + B Spec Indy

I have Level 20 + B Spec drivers who still cant win the oval style races in american champ or like the wind despite having fair seperior cars. Keeps braking before turns.

Has anyone here actually won this? Does B Spec drivers get better at oval tracks/ do they learn to not break? I hope they do because each time they go around the track it costs me 141K in rigidity bills.

Please help! car settings, facts that they will improve etc!
 
I know it sounds weird, but try to max your downforce in B-spec, it pretty much highers your speed in corners, not just on ovals.
 
thank you for your view, i dont have any issues with b spec except for oval races.

i want to know whether this is an issue with the AI or it is possible. if it isn't possible i dont want to bother trying as it wastes time and money i spend on b spec, but if it is, i'll keep trying.

To adjust down force, I go to Aero Parts, and move the values down?
 
cheers, i tried but it still seems to be the b spec AI even though my driver is lvl 21.

his very fast in the straight however loses wayyyy to much ground in the corners.

despite the downforce he still slows down. has anyone won the American championship in b spec?
 
I did the oval truck challenge with a chevy SSR. Full engine mods and custom tranny. He did slow on the turns but put paced on the straight aways. Level 8 bob.
 
cheers stanielz, i had no problems with the truck challange, indy @ lvl 23 is really giving my a hard time. tried downforce, tried gear ratio's, just painful seeing the damage bill. i know i should let them keep trying but its so expensive, not sure if its even worth it. why not grind another track...

my car cant even win on laguna seca let alone the indy!

you don't need to refresh the rigidity after every race, more like after like 5000kms or something.
 
yea my drivers act like buffoons while in any oval style track. I thought it would go away as they leveled up. But its not yet happening. He brakes early into corners dropping 5 spots until he reaches about 11th place. Then passes to about 6th before braking into another banked corner
 
This might sound strange but try a level 0 driver. I was having the same problems, i.e. bob would stand on the brakes for the corners, tried a new driver figuring it would be good track to level up new drivers on and he won by 7+ seconds.

Tried it a few more times and it wasn't a fluke, although after two races new drivers are level 12 and cant win any more, strange.
 
hahaha lvl0 bob,,, my bobs problems seemed to go away but im having the same problem again, will try newb'ob it sounds just retarded enough to work
 
hmm I haven't tried ovals in b-spec yet but maybe if you get a driver and randomize his characteristics to be extremely hot (default cold/hot slider all the way to the right), he might be reckless enough to not brake.. If that doesn't work try the extreme cool driver, it could be that ovals require a certain driving style and not every type of Bob can pull it off

Or try to put him in overtake/increase pace mode right before every corner? (although this means some serious Bobby-sitting)

I will give it a shot when my Bobby levels up, but I guess alot of others will have already found an answer while i'm leveling him up lol

hmm i never had the balls to pick a red hot bob... but you sir have shown me the way! i have 1 freezing 2 cool and 1 room temp bobs .but now for a boiler. hope he isnt 2 crazy... i can lvl a new driver really quickly so ill let you guys know how boilin bob turns out
 
I would try the hot tempered route , i have one bspec Bob who is cool and one whis hot , the hot tempered Bob will race the ovals without braking , watched him tailgate a Mclaren with the Furai concept for 3 laps at 220 mph before he decided to overtake on the last lap , got up to 235 mph , nice one bob:tup:
 
Yea hot tempered bobs do better on ovals since they do a lot of late braking and careless driving. Also, bob is more sensitive to car tune settings than you are. Give him lower gear ratios for faster acceleration (when he's in first he doesn't draft so he needs to be close to 'top speed' on straights) and lower the downforce (less drag, higher top speed). If you are having trouble with a car with a big advantage, I'd hate to see your reaction to the Nascar events. This is all VERY important when you get to the Nascar races since they can't be modded aside from oil changes, making all the cars pretty much the same. Tuning suspension, gearing, and downforce for the track gives your driver the advantage when everyone is driving the same thing.
 
i have been driving race cars for a few days now and im still yet to see the aerodynamics option yet...
 
Just B-spec'ed the Indy race in the American Championship and won by a little more than 28 seconds over 2nd place. Used a tuned, race modified Z06 Corvette with maximum downforce and max speed set to 249mph.

Best part...created a real hothead for a driver, placed him in this car for his very first race, and he smoked em'. One thing I did was kept the pace around 75% of max during the race when he wasn't flying by the other cars. Easy win.

Thanks to all for suggesting a hot tempered newbie...worked perfect.
 
Not sure what the issue is. G.Pace did very well at the Like the Windraces, with little input from me in the 88C-V with upgraded turbo, and I accidentally had S-S tires equipped at Indy instead of the R-H tires I remembered to equip at Daytona.

We'll see how he does at the American championship. Might use prize Ford GT LM.

Just out of curiosity, how did you get a brand new level 0 driver to enter a level 23 race?

Game unlocks events by your B-spec level, not personal driver level. If you are 21, you can just create a fresh new driver and use him in Like The Wind.
 
Ahh, okay. So you're saying if I level one driver up to 21st level, I can create a new driver and he can enter level 21 events right off the bat? Interesting.

yes you can. 'your' B-Spec level dictates which events bob can enter. and if you put a new bob into a high level race, he'll be gaining levels fast. as in instant 4+ levels on the first race (depending on which event).
 
Still can't win the Like the Wind Indy race in the Z06, even after retiring first time drivers, and creating new ones to replace them. Even with very minimum braking skill, they always brake going into the corners. I assume if I can get lucky and re-roll driver skills over and over until I get a B-spec driver with NO braking skill, it just might work.

tough race, tho Spec 2 GT's are Fast!

EDIT: Just Realised why it was so close, I was running hard sports tyres NOT Racing tyres!!!

On Indy 200, I found that I can use soft slick, when everyone else is using mediums. Same mileage, apx 25-27 laps.
With my 908, I lapped the field twice.
