Right y'all, I'm A-spec level 23, I have a decent garage and have golded most of a-spec upto half the extreme events, apart from the ones you need specific cars for.I've got a decent bank and I am soon in level-23 car territory (3.1mil at mo). I'm not sure what to do now, apart from the usual online play and splitscreen with friends of course.

My options....
  • Grind for the cars I want in my garage
  • Grind for the level up to get endurance races
  • Buy a NASCAR
  • Save 4m and buy a premium level 23 car
  • Buy the forumla GT (how much is this? used car lot I presume?)
  • Buy a german touring car
  • Do more specials on gold for exp (and cash!)
  • Just enjoy what I have and wait for matchmaking and hopefully credits/xp for online wins

I think there is a grind involved but I think I can keep it interesting. There are (have been) a few annoyances however...
  • An event where the opposition is level 23 race cars, but the event is open at level-20 or whatever
  • Winning a version of a car needed for a race when you win said race
  • crap resale of value of cars (always been like this)
  • Crap prize cars (previous GT versions far better)
  • Crap prize money and/or not winning repeat prize cars

I may also be up for trading, I have the following which may be of interest to people (I want a race car ideally)

  • Buggatti Veyron
  • Ferrari Italia (maxed and tuned, a total beauty)
  • Nissan GT-R '07 (maxed an tuned, a beast, insane power)
  • Lambo Gallardo (538bhp)
  • Ford GT '06 (maxed and tuned, a wonderful car)
  • Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi spec C Type RA (maxed and with racing mods, handles like a dream)
  • Corvette Stingray '69
  • Shelby GT350R '65
  • Tommy Kaira ZZII '00
  • Mazda Furai Concept
  • Buick Special 62
  • Beetle Cup Car
  • RUF CTR 'Yellow Bird'
  • Lancia Delta S4 rally car
  • Lambo Countach '77 (maxed)
  • Jaguar E-Type '61
  • Lotus Elise '00

hi,

1 when you want drive the german Tourung Cup on Extreme, buy the Lexus I F Racing Concept :) or you must wait for a German Tourung Car generated in Used car Dealer.

2 I never seen a Formula GT in the used car dealer

have anyone a Formula GT, how much cost it ?

At 23 I grinded the American Championship's Indy circuit. This got me to 24 and enough money to buy the Formula Gran Turismo which you will eventually need. 24 to 25 is really easygoing with the AMG events on offer. So I suggest that, as the Formula Gran Turismo costs 4.8 Million.

but now 1 have 5000 exp on lvl 23, next level is ca 150000 and the indy race i earned 4400
in 4 minutes, that means i must race ca 35 times, over 2 hrs race only 1 track

btw. i dont have all special events because i dont like that, and now its too late to earning so much EXP :(

The AMG events give a ton of experience and are really quite easy to Silver provided you're competent. The Advanced Rally give 12,000 each roughly which is okay, however for 8 races it is quite slow.

But the Special Events, they're key to leveling quickly with minimal grinding.

I'm racing on the dreamcar championship and so far it's really fun. Getting 18k exp per race and 24k for the last one in nurb. Also money is good because you get like 400k at the end, must be around 700k for the whole series. But that is 24 I think <.<.

At 23, I bought a Arta NSX for the super GT event and a Lexus for the DTC.
I usually do race with championship in them rather than individual race, just because I find it more fun.

Just do all the golds you still can that you haven't gotten yet. I golded all licenses and everything in special except for two and everything in A-Spec up to lvl 23 and I have done zero grinding

I wonder why almost everyone thinks Indy in american challenge (or whats its name) is best for EXP grind. Its definetly best for grind overall since it gives nice exp and hell a lot of the money. But as soon as ya put your hands on formula GT i suggest riding monza for example. Around 28 minutes (maybe 28.5 with loadings) and you got 33k exp. Quick counting gives you result that riding monza for 5 hours gives you around same amount of exp as 6 hours of indy.

Worth to mention: count loading times. It takes around 5 minutes 20-30 seconds to do whole indy including loadinds.

Thanks for this tip. Looking at the list of compliant cars for the German Touring Cars, I'd really like to land the BMW M3 GTR Race Car for this. I've seen the normal M3 GTR in used car but not the race variant. I'm going to keep this event on ice and look out for one of these (has anyone seen it and knows the cost?). It's nice to know I have the (750k) Lexus to fall back on. What about the 'Alfa 155 2.5 V6 Ti '93'? Is that a normal car? That one is on the list too.

Yea, I love the specials in GT, they always were a decent enjoyable challenge (especially to gold!!). I have done most of what is available to me to silver standard. I have a couple of AMG events sat on bronze and some expert karting events to do. The specials just get a bit annoying after a while, having to restart cos you know you're not gonna do it etc. I guess it's all about mixing it up with other stuff you've done already.

Wow, most 23 year olds could only dream of such a feat ;) I have done gold on 2/3 of the superGT events using the Maxda Furai. I'm just struggling on the wet race, it's completely insane! The very first time I tried it, it was dry ... need to come back another day on that one I think!

I also often do a full championship for the grind, gives a variation of tracks and pays out very well!

That's more-or-less where I am at really. Done all but the last license test and as I say, most of the specials. I also have yet to hit a grind, but if I want to a) complete the game and b) have the garage I want, then I know there will be a grind involved. I'm hoping this matchmaking thing will pay out credits for spending on cars, that would provide massive longevity in the game I think.

So, my next question, which level23 car to grind for? Standard or Premium? I'd kinda like a cockpit view for the 4.whatever million it's gonna end up costing me for my first one!

The BMW GTR Race Car is available in the used cars. Price is $999,000. Great car, it's what I used for the DTC.

Nice :) Only 250k more than the Lexus! I think I'll definitely hold out for this one then. I nearly bought the GTR Road Car when I saw it in used car lot, think it would have wiped me out at the time.

If I want to grind cash at the mo, I've been using the first stage in the Euro Champs (Extreme) it's on Rome and my best time is 5:45 in the Ferarri Italia ... best lap is about 1:06. It pays 83k I think

extreme american indy course

4 minutes 7 seconds with full tuned cadillac cien, 98000 cr. + 4400 exp
The Caddy will do but the ZR1 Rm is the beast here. More downforce so it holds the track better. I typically get around 3:38 race time with it. Also the Ford GT Spec II from the dream cars championship is very good here. I usually get around 3:40 - 3:43 and is very easy to drive on this track.

385k for the racing mod!? That will cut into my 3mil with car purchase and other add-ons! Ahh well, I've already set myself the target of getting all the race-mod-able cars!

I'm gonna bag me this baby, tune her up and use her to grind her own cost back :)

Man I love GT ... sure things could be improved, that's true of everything, but by god we've got ourselves the best racing game ever made. I for one am happy with my purchase :)

It's a bit fascist on these forums innit!? Having posted two new posts, which were totally valid, I am now unable to create a new (3rd) one and am instead sent to a FAQ page saying new posts are blocked until GT5's release ... WTF?!

I'm all for ridding boards of d1cks but this is silly!

Anyway, the question I was going to post was...

If I racing mod my car, then I repaint it, will the new 'colour' be that colour with racing livery or will the car look like a normal car paintjob-wise?

I don't want to do it an regret it, I just thnk the plain black and white racing mod is well a bit plain!

I am in the same boat. My A spec is soon to be beaten and I'm at level 25. Right now ive been trying to get all golds in special events and other then that, its it.

If you have a NASCAR, do it with that. I won that race in the Juan Montoya Chevrolet, and got 7000xp+.

Its a bit of a bum twitcher though, I had to keep a 2J behind me for the whole five laps. The secret is to go fast in the corners and make yourself WIDE on the straights! 👍

Well... The first time I raced the track I got ~7000xp but I had three cars swarming over my rear as I crossed the line. I think we finished within the same second. I tried again today, and finished five seconds ahead of the pack, and only got 4400xp.

I'm beginning to wonder if the amount of XP rewarded, has to do with how close the race is, or some variation on this theme... 💡

EDIT: I've Just done the race with A Saleen S7 with light tuning, and It was pretty tough as the car doesn't like corners! I finished 6th place (I was spun off the track), and 3 seconds behind first place, and I was awarded 4060xp. I'm going to see if I can get any higher with that car. 👍

Xp is not awarded on how close it is/was.

If you want the best chance to win the US INDY race, get the ZR1 that can be race modded. (Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM '09), spend the credits to max out the HP, if not already, get the stickiest tires, adjust max speed up to 260ish (mph) and enjoy blowing them away as often as you like. You get 4400 XP each time I think. 98,000 credits... You can do it in less than 4 minutes w/the Vette. The 1st time I achieved it was w/the NASCAR TUGBOAT... from then on it's been w/the vette. Thus far (I'm lvl25 A-spec, 21 B-spec) it's the best way I've found to "grind" for some cash...

Still looking for that elusive "Fromula Gran Turismo" car. Once I get that, I can finish my "All golds" in Spec. Well that is until I start doing the Endurance series... 24hrs? How do they expect us to complete those races?

like the wind, a spec. 3 minutes and 28 seconds = 70,000.00$$$

What car do you use? I struggle with my mazda furai and my maxed GT-R

I did a little grind earlier on Indy 'like the wind'. I used my Mazda 787B Stealth - did the race (if you could call it that!) 15 times to make 1,050,000 credits and 53,460xp. Sure, it is incredibly tedious after a while but each race only lasts about 4 minutes and I don't know how to make that much money any quicker.

Anyone else have a better idea?

Isn't the option still there to pause the game for as long as needs be? That's what I did with GT4 and completed all the endurance races myself.

I'm not sure how the PS3 will handle that though - would it have a tendency to overheat? Perhaps KY's intention was for us to have our idiot b-spec drivers do the Endurance races for us. That would get on my nerves.

Like the wind is where it's at. No brakes, full throttle. 3mins 24sec in my Monolta toyota 89. Put your iPod on shuffle, smoke some happy, and a few hours later you got major money. The formula gt is 4.6 milli and shows up RARELY in used cars. Worth every cent. Simply enter/exit race 5 times to get all new used cars in your used section. May take a day, but well worth it. Let the online hating begin 8^]

Though acquiring the formula GT does somewhat feel like the end of the road. I mean, how many game endings are there?
