Anyone think PD will increase the level cap with the upcoming update? Or better yet would anyone welcome more leveling up?

I got thinking of this because all seasonal events pack a lot of xp leaving most people close to or at level 40 and even the x2010 is being given for free when vettel wins the championship so leveling up and racking up xp is becoming even more irrelevent than it was before at higher levels.
I would personally welcome a level cap increase if there were enough events to justify it and a lot less grinding involved and maybe a new x2011 as a prize car for reaching the top level.

Maybe in "level 50" all cars become premium and all tracks are unlocked?

hahaha. Bad joke...

Just kidding ! But its interesting in some way, the increase in the level cap, because they can add new events (like the online events) and add trophies.

If they add extra levels then hopefully they will remove the money cap, it's just stupid, at least up to 25,000,000 cause you buy a ford mark IV or p4 330 and you can't get racing softs O.o

I personally think PD might add more a-spec events and yeah increase the leveling up to say i.e. 45 or 50.

I'm level 39½, and to date, I never had to "grind" for XP
I Just enjoy myself trying each and every car, stock and fully modded

Same here. I'm almost L37 and never once 'grinded' for XP, it's all been done through enjoyable racing.

I'd rather DP drop the XP thing all together and have the balls to stand out from all the other games that use this system. If not, crank it up to 100 and that'll sort the men from the boys.

For what purpose?

If pd offered a new car that you could only get by reaching a new higher level cap it would be a good idea instead of getting nothing for reaching level 40 like we do now

Near the upper levels there really isn't a point to having levels. I mean sure the 24HR Nurb, but really nothing else. All the cars are available from level what 25? (save for the X2010, but who really cares about that?) I believe restructuring the level system now would require a complete restructuring of the entire game from scratch to make it worth while. Who wants to lose everything?

I do! No, not really but I've just got up to L30 on a new account in a few days just from racing seasonals alone and only owning a handful of cars. Mucho funo.

I think it would be worth increasing the top level just so that it doesn't stick at 40 and you can still see some progress. They could leave B Spec drivers with a cap of 40 though, unless they've got an AI improvement up their sleeve.

As said before there isn't much reward for levelling at the high levels so perhaps they could give you a little something like a matte/chrome paint every time you levelled up.

The seasonal events are already available at level 0 so adding more A/B Spec events at higher levels would only serve a small purpose.

I wouldn't be impressed at all if they did that. Like I said before even with the seasonals it takes far too long to get to 40 as it is, the level system was poorly implented. I think back before seasonals it was said that once you hit level 35 and only had the Le Mans 24 Hours to do, you would have to do it around 7 times to get to 40.

I don't mind if the races given can be done once to reach the next level, but having to do that because there isn't any more new races between 35 and 40 was just silly.

apologies. i mistook your post.

No worries. :)

They should remove the whole level system. The whole concept is a Fail. People buy driving simulator/game to enjoy realism of driving cars which they will never get the chance to buy/drive in real life. No to gain level like some dumb MMORPG.

I think the level system can work in a game like this but it HAS to be structured properly.

Level 1 > Three races available > Win three races > level 2
Level 2 > Five races available > Win ten races > level 3

Level 29 > One endurance race available > Win endurance race > Level 30

and so on. That isn't the case with GT5's system as I already mentioned. I can't remember where I had to start redoing races because I had none left but it was somewhere around the 20's.

There shouldn't be any prizes for levels because levels shouldn't even be in the game.

I don't care if PD adds more levels, they are pointless anyway. However, there should not be any exclusive prizes for leveling.

The question is:
What is the purpose of XP in 1st place?
IMO the only purpose that XP had, is to make the game look longer and to add a trophy.

For the people (like me) that got the game on release day, the utterly useless grinding was utterly boring..... and for what? Just to be able to enter the next race? cause PD didnt manage to add as many event as they should? cause PD havent calculated it right.
+Plus that the license test's have lost their meaning.

I am level 40 in both spec's,(at A-spec i got there from the SSR7 glitch tbh) and the stupid thing still gives me xp.
They didnt even make a single line to make the game understand that you reached level 40 and stop poping-up the XP window.

XP would have a purpose if it was really reflecting gamers achievements, or gamers career like from kart all the way up to F1....and if that was well made, for example we could have a setting in on-line lobbies to set what XP-level players can enter.
Or it would be nice (If we had more dirt/snow races,) to have different XP level for each kind of race....it would be nice to have to master both tarmac and gravel/snow.

An XP system like that, would make sense... the XP system that we have now is totally meaningless and utterly useless.

Having said all that, is clear IMO that the XP is useless and fails in every aspect.
So you either fix it or you remove it.
Too late to be removed, Too late for a complete fix, only option is what PD did, tweak it a bit so players dont want to kill their self's.

To the OP's question....if i remember well you need 7mills to get from level 39 to 40? (or something like that)
Ok lets say that you need 8mills to get from 40 to 41,(forget about getting to 50 we are talking about billions) and for what? to enter in which race? to do what? and how long that will take?
How much more useless can the xp system become?

I really dont think that anyone cares about the XP. With XP or not if there were some proper a-spec events GT players would be happy.
About the price, It would make much more sense to add some difficult Special Events or Seasonal Events to give you a Special Price.

XP is pointless, we aren't playing an RPG. It never should have existed in this game, license test could have more than served the same purpose far more efficiently. Although it would have to be more difficult than just bronzing all the tests to "level up".

Your progression through the driving school would then allow you to unlock new events, cars, upgrades maybe, etc. Also should be able to set a minimum skill for online rooms. Thus allowing me to keep out poor drivers who just barely bronzed their way through the tests, instead filtering out more people who could efficiently pass the applied overtaking tests into my race. This would make finding a decent race lobby a much simpler and more productive experience.
