Earlier tonight I was drifting a LFA. Of course I did the suspension upgrades, LSD, Tranny and all the other minor drivetrain upgrades, as well as weight reduction and a racing exhaust. I started drifting with this vehicle and am extremely impressed at what it can do, however whenever mid-drift I try to switch from 3rd to 4th gear, it completely loses wheel spin. Another way of explaining it is I am tacking (sp) out in third gear and need to upshift to fourth to increase speed and when I make the shift, it is almost as if it takes longer to make the shift then with the other gears.

This only from 3rd to 4th, never 4th to 5th or 2nd to 3rd, only 3rd to 4th. Does anyone else ever notice this problem or know how to combat it. I really would like to drift with this machine more often but if it is going to act odd like this during important gear shifts then unfortunately I will have to shelf it. Thanks for any input on the matter at hand!

The main problem with the LFA is the Power Band!. And this sounds like that very problem. I've not used the car to drift but I have raced in it and I wasn't to keen on where the power is!. that's most likely you're problem!. you could majorly shorten the gears to find the powerband easier but you would be drifting regular 3rd gear corners in 4th or even 5th lol... I've heard very much it's not a car with the sort of power to drift!. Also this car revs up to 10k standard! that shows it's not particularly the ideal car for drifting!

I can't give you a proper solution to fix the problem!. But I would say scrap the car :(

Yea I am extremely sad to have to scrap it because I think this thing sounds absolutely amazing. Well if I have to scrap it, oh well, I still have my viper which sounds pretty good to, plus it, in my opinion, is my personal best drift vehicle.

Hehe, I kept it fairly stock. Only put the racing exhaust on for the beefier sound. If I am on my game that night, I try to get right up on someone when coming across someone in an online drift session like you see in the videos throughout the internet. Huge adrenaline rush for a video game. I tried a 350 hp 90' rx7 and just could not keep up with most people in the rooms I joined. I am not sure if it was me, which I am assuming it was because I am not a perfect drifter, or if it was just the lower horsepower of the vehicle. But nonetheless that thing got so much angle. Much fun to drift.

Trying to take a super car drifting is almost impossible in real life seriously who would take an ENZO drifting haha no one.

I drift an LFA and I dont seem to find a problem with it. I think its a brilliant drift car and it can almost drift as well as my Camaro. What tyres are/were you using?

I need to give this thing a go.... I have had the LFA for about a month and never driven it... Just got it for the pink chip lol.

I used comfort hard tires. And to the guy who said something about not drifting a super in real life, this is a video game, have fun bro, and if that involves drifting a super car then so be it. Maybe the problem was just a glitch in the game or something, I don't know, I will give it another go around later today.

I am having the same prob. What I did was actually make the gears longer so even if it is revving out it can still make most long drifts lol. PS same issue with my ENZO Tuzmyfuz80 check the vid u will hear the enzo revving out alot!

Thanks for the advice kwentyne, I will give that a shot later today. I had done something similar earlier where I just shortened it and stayed in 4th, 5th, and 6th but maybe that will work also. Thanks!

I drove the LFA for the first time a few days ago, and I had the most fun ever on the nurburgring, I drove it like I stole it, drifting most corners it was a beast and completely standard too.

I didn't notice the problem you speak of, but I wasn't drifting with huge angle or anything, just going very quickly and sideways. I've noticed some cars doing that between some gears, it's like it takes ages for the game to change gears, as if it was on a sunday drive, it ruins the drifting on some cars, but I think changing the ratios is the only way around it.

GT is not real life though. I can drift my takata dome NSX JGTC car just fine in GT5. Not something anyone has ever tried (or will try) IRL. In my opinion that's half the fun of GT5.

OP i have encountered the problem you speak of many times. I always just buy a full racing transmission. The new transmission usually fixes the problem, but if it doesn't, i shorten the gear ratios to the point where it's not as much of a problem. More power when you enter the next gear combined with knowing when the momentary lapse is about to happen should let you drift through it.

Oh and drift on comfort hards if you're not already.

I completely agree and wasnt arguing against fun within the game. Basically i can no longer back up on the logic on that post I was not in my right mind mate
