Hardest one for me was the ridiculous braking challenge with that Aston Martin...got within 0.001 then it literally took me another 50 tries to finally gold it.

59 gold. 1 silver. IA-2, the one with the Lexus IS-F on La Sarthe. I just cannot gold that one. I personally thought the super license tests were quite easy and fun, but that just shows that I can overtake but can't set a time.

Slalom with FT Concept.
Nearly drove me mad trying to gold that with a DS3.
But managed it in the end.

I have 60 Gold in Licences now but the nightmare test for me was IB-3 FR Cone Slalom Challenge in the Toyota FT-86 Concept.

I was constantly failing by 0.005 - 0.070 for a fortnight. When I finally got it there was much delight and relief.

IC-10 was a bit tricky when the game first came out, as the slightest contact (even if the AI initiated it) would result in disqualification, now that is no longer an issue.

Well I have 42 Gold, 17 Silver, and 1 Bronze I got Bronze on the last Shalom those was my hardest doing Shalom My best was S License all Golden and won a GT Academy too :)

I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello...

What you're after here is slalom :)

I final golded IC-3!!!!! I wish GT logged the number of times i tried it as the figure would just be ridiculous. Also, the mad thing is, is that after repeatedly nipping 0.002 from the time i then went and took off 0.3 to take the gold after only needing a 0.035 improvement.

60 Golds 0 Silvers 0 Bronzes!!!!!

For me it was IB3 slalom. Came back to it last night, got a couple 18.5xx times and knew I could finally do it. Then, finally!!!, got 18.488 and got gold. It was the last license gold that I needed.

I originally thought this was was just impossible, but when I read somewhere to keep the throttle constant (no big changes), then I started doing better. Could I repeat the time, don't know, and don't really want to try.

Watching the replay, I went through the last couple of cones at 78mph and really don't know how ?

IB-3 was annoying, the one with the slalom, but then I just used active steering and passed it easily.

IC-3 is not that bad if you cut a bit of the corners. As long as you have 1 or maybe 2 wheels on the track, it's allowed.

IC-10 was hard until I increased ABS setting to 3. Otherwise, it's too twitchy under braking and you lose to much time.

I found the IC3 quite easy, i did it in 15 minutes on DS3. Most troublesome were B licenses on Tsukuba and Nurburgring, i did them as my last, always missing 0,005 or so. :D

1+ :dopey:👍

And some of the race licenses with opponents were also very tough, before they got patched to "destruction derby mode". :ouch:

58 Gold. Missing both slaloms.

Slaloming is neither racing nor track driving in any fashion, and as such, I refuse to spend my time on these ridiculous tests.

I've now been tranded on IB-3 (Top Gear slalom w/ FT-86) for the time being. I do have silver, but this picking up of .200secs each run is wearing thin :banghead:

The Top Gear slalom test in that Horrid FT-86 POS!.. That took a few tries. Everything else was easy! I golded almost all on the first try.

IB-3 Slalom.

I have a time of either 0.05 or 0.005 away anyhow its pretty close.

I know it may as well be 0.5 as you get the same a SILVER

XXI
I have 59 golded. IB-3 Slalom is left, I keep going back and forth with DFGT, DS3 nothing helps.

I have 59 Gold, I'll let you guess which one I have left. I used to try a license that I had not "Golded" yet every time I started GT5, kind of as a warm up, but the frustration of this one just leads to a bad day at the track. I now start up and see the 200% and 10 museum cards and paint chip message and think "try IB-3 or see what colors I got? Wow, another white and baby puke green, YAY". I will get back to it one day, I swear.

pagani c12 s in the S- liscence trial with the white maserati. i never get to pass him.

I have that golded as well as all of S-license, keep trying, it seems hard but having a good familiarity of trial mountain helps, the AI actually suck alot on trial mountain, there's plenty of opportunity to catch up even in a Maserati, maybe that's why you're in the Masterati GT.

I only got 42 Gold and 17 silver that the best I can do I gave up but I'm happy with it cause overall I have 88% in trophies and 100% game completion I'm proud of myself

That stupid, stupid and utterly unrealistic wet braking challenge.

No ABS? On a GT-R??? But SRF ON? So, basically we're forced to use an unrealistic aid we hate and aren't allowed to use a realistic one that the actual car has.

Really, it shows how license tests don't have much pedagogical value.

I actually thought I would have trouble with the Veyron on the first time I did the final S license. Turns out it was a brick on wheels, too.

Got the last gold this week, it was the slalom. I had 59 golds for months, and then tried it again and somehow in a few tries I got that last gold. I also struggled with the Eiger Challenge. All that is left is golds on Vettel, no interest in trying those yet, seems impossible.

You are to be commended CarBastard. You are the platinum winner for the first use of "Pedagogical" on the GTPlanet forums. At least reading GTPlanet has "Pedagogized" me today. :)

Half of the IA one's, I got like 5 silver left to gold then I am done, and they are driving me nuts, I have done just about everything and I get within a .1 of it and then I try again improved somewhere and yet lose a lot somewhere else :\

Congratulations, the slalom took me almost as much time as the C8 Eiger test.

They're not impossible, just really, really difficult. If you have a problem with a liscense spend a couple of hours on it. If you can't crack it leave it for a month or so. You'll find that while you were driving other tracks you'll learn what you need to gold your remaining liscense(s).

Once a month go to Drivingfast.net and read something new. Try to incorporate what you learn into your driving for that month.
