Hey guyz,

Since 2001 internet as been a big part of my life. But the most important part of my internet life as been during the night (9pm to 4-5am). Vision of the keyboard is something I don't really need when I'm just writing like that, but when it comes to games, it's just a pain in the ass to hope I'm pressing the right key. Since I don't love light, I just don't turn it on, which leaves me with the option of buying a lighted keyboard.

I've been searching around the net but only one GOOD came up and this is the Logitech G15. All the others I found were made like it was a little plastic crap over leds or a kind of sillicon (I don't really know what it was). I don't really want that kind of cheap materials that could break easily, considering that it costs big bucks. Since the G15 is a gaming keyboard, it has alot of things I actually don't need, I just need a usual keyboard with lights. I was wondering if you guys knows any other company aside Logitech that makes lighted keyboards that are well made aside the G15.

I always thought sitting in a dark room watching TV/computer monitors for hours was bad for your eyes...

Anyway, you could always paint the letters on your keyboard over with glow in the dark paint. ;)

Anyways, just turn the light on. If you're that ignorant to go spend money on a backlit keyboard (and they never hold up anyways) just because you aren't a fan of light, then you shouldn't use the internet. Using your PC in pure dark can put massive strain on your eyes too.
 
I hope you buy a lighted keyboard, then after a few months it breaks and you realize flipping a switch would have been much more cost effective and hassle-free.
 
No. I just find it stupid that he can't find the deep courage it takes to turn on a light, rather than spending $30 on a lighted keyboard (and they never hold up.)

Well, maybe he doesn't want to turn on the light because he wants to see more details on the screen. Or maybe he wants the cinematic effect.
 
Our fellow member MugenVTEC is simply asking for recommendations on keyboards. He obviously has his reasons for why he wants a certain kind of keyboard.

Let's stop the arguing and help him out. If you do have something against it, then kindly point out your reason. For example, the negative effects on the eyes is an excellent argument. There's no need for criticisms that achieve nothing.
 
hey you could try the Raptor K1 gaming keyboard, its a pro gamer keyboard and has lots of high tech gold conectors n that for quick response, but it also has semi light up keys for gaming in the dark.

I wouldn't recommend buying any keyboard that has "gold plated connectors". They are overpriced, and if that whole .00001 ms you save because you have gold connectors is that important to you, then you need to be in CAL..

Those are clearly the keyboards I mentionned to be cheap made, just look at it closely and check the price. It's all ridiculous.

If you want to spend $30+ on something that is unneeded and will break down on you MUCH quicker than a normal keyboard, be my guest.

Oh and looks and price aren't everything. Try reading the reviews also.
 
Just curious here, how exactly do they break down more quickly? Are you talking about the light or the actual keys itself?

Both.

Generally, lighted keyboards don't last as long as normal keyboards. The LEDs usually end up burning out, which defeats the purpose of buying one, and usually they just don't seem to hold up to much stress before they start to have less responsiveness, sticky keys, etc.

Maybe for you. You know, nobody handles a keyboard the same way, and I don't push my keyboard because I lose to a game and I certainly don't ram my fingers through the keys. In fact, I try to keep the typing noise down.

But anyway, you really seem to hate those keyboards and I respect your opinion.


BTW, spending lots of money doesn't mean they break faster. I have the Logitech Media Keyboard I've had for about 2 years and it is still in mint condition. Just learn how to use a keyboard if you think they break easily...
 
Is "lighted" an American term? There is no such word in English. I think you mean "lit".

yes thats what he means, or "Illuminated"

guess its just one of those qurky American/Canadian colloquialisms.
