thanks so much for the info, I was having trouble with that series.

anyone know what you win when you complete the beginning?

thanks in advance

I'm finishing up the AWD class now and I'm moving on to the FF class. After reading this I'll probably get the Capuccino since I sold the Autobanchi. I won it, then I went to Italy to see if there was any special races for it, there wasn't so I sold it. And just a quick question, Is there a button you press to initiate the nitrous? How does that work?

I used the 95 Capp also to win the K Cup with only a few mods. After winning the Ginetta and modding it you can own the city tracks and British Cup. That car is amazing!

I used the Mazda AZ-1 Autozam for the K-Cup. Didn't need many mods to do it.

After I did that, I went full mod on the AZ-1 and took it to the MR races and with some tweaking and a little corner cutting (Fuji and Motorsport Park chicanes) was able to win those races as well.

I was really impressed with the AZ-1. In red, with the right wheels and a wing it looks like a baby Ferrari F40 (well sorta anyway) and the replay of it beating up on NSX's and Loti was hilarious.

AZ-1 = 👍

I did the exact same thing and i was impressed wtih the AZ-1 as well.

"I was going to buy a Cooper S to win that with. Did you try weight reduction on the car to get it into the race?"

The K Cup requirements are based on length, not weight, so it won't make a difference.

The '95 Capp. is actually a fun little car to play with. You can win the Beginner Hall K Cup without any mods to it, just change the oil and turn off the driving aids. It's all about keeping the revs and momentum up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't check the length of a car(or many other specs) until after you've purchased it right? Am I missing something?

EDIT: I'm wrong and I did miss something. You can click on "buy", look at the specs, then click "cancel". :dunce:

AH! The Cappucino! I didn't even think about that car. I've spent the last half an hour scouring around looking at the Lupo, the mini, autobianchi and all the other europeans...

now I can finally clear off these beginer races.

go go az-1! when i was in japan....6 years ago, i saw a nice looking tuned black AZ-1, a "John Player Special"....and what do you know? I found pictures of it online!
http://az-1.loops.jp/tokubetu/101/101_7.html
Notice that on the back it's a "Jhon Player Special"--whoops.

I have a few pictures at home of this car, in a back alley of Akihabara, Tokyo, though all that is really gained is a sense of scale. If anybody wants to see them, just PM me, and I'll upload them on Monday.

So when I saw the car list for GT4 I was happy that I could again buy and tune an AZ-1 like in GT2, but to my displeasure I've only been able to find it in red... so I haven't bought one yet, though I think that is the only color it's offered in GT4. Anybody seen/have any other colors? I wish that PD would include a paint option....even if you could only choose 4 colors and it could only be done to mass-production cars, I'd be perfectly happy. So, it looks as though I'm going to have to wait for a bit for the AZ-1 to come around again...pity. Don't like the used car lot idea.

Well, I haven't golded the B license yet so I don't have the 600. So instead I took the A112 Abarth and put some grey Panasport wheels on it, a Sports suspension, and Turbo 1 to beat the Cappucino. In races without the Cappucino, the A112 did it with stock horsepower.

Call me wierd, but sice I imported my gt3 money, and used the 2nd rally as a goldmine, I've got a ton of cash. So I just Collected the 95 Cappuccino, the 93 Beat and the 92 Az-1. I beat it using a slightly modded Cappuccino, but had I been able to get the much rarer mazda I woulda done it with that. (Mazda Fanboy) I Love these little things! Too bad they're so wimpy.

Yeah, I dug mine out of the garage and actually tried it out. The funniest thing is that during the replays it tends to be completely hidden by the car in front of it until they both pass by the camera, then you see this tiny car tucked right in on the back bumper of the other car. Great little car, shame they've never seen US soil...

The cappucino is a great car, and very useful in acquiring the killer Suzuki concepts, but you'll also find that the Honda Civic Del Sol is just under the length limit at 3395 and starts with a respectable 150 HP.

With some tuning you can increase that to right around 250, which completely blows away the competition in the K cup.

Don't use the Del Sol if you want a challenging race, as you'll only get 1 A-spec point for the win.

<edit>
My mistake. The Del Sol is 3995, and I used it on the Japanese and Professional compact car races.

For the lightweight K I used a Copen, which was a super-fun little car.

This post is a tidbit of information everyone will love me for and many will laugh at me for. But the trick to handling heads up races or races with lesser cars is the Driver Assist in settings. TURN IT OFF. With the aids on you can't drive the least bit aggressive. You have to follow perfect lines, not skidding, power sliding, trail braking, etc, etc, etc. I tend to drive on the edge and driver assist kills me.

I tried the Series in the Abarth stock. Exited on the first lap. Tuned to 108hp, exited 2nd lap. Moved onto other races. While racing some other Circuits, I noticed the driving aids and turned them off. Wow, this changes everything. So I went back and added a sports suspension, racing flywheel, triple plate clutch, and with driver assist off, I freaking lapped most of the field. I plan on rerunning the series with the car tuned down.

If the Cappucino's there, the Abart will do it at 103hp (Turbo 1) and Sport suspension. If the Cappucino stays home, you can leave off the turbocharger.

I've been following this advice for this cup. Driver Assists off = a must. I lost the first time I tried the first race with my Cap, but after I turned em off it got silly.

I went last night and ran the 4000mm and under race with a Nissan Pao, that i spent a ton on, only to lose..then i relaized it wasn't the same kind of race as ther k-cup races so i'll reuse that for the k-cups. I ended up using the mugen civic you win in the civic races to win the 4000mm and under class. I've been debating buying a cappucino for a while, but since you guys all seem to like i think I will.

i bought a minicooper thinking that it would be 3400mm or less so i could use it for the lightweight k-car cup but it's 3600..i don't even know of any cars that are under 3400 that i can buy..can someone help me PLEASE? what's a car that's under 3400mm in length and is just a good car in general? anyone?
Well I used the autobinachi which is free win it, and I had no trouble, its a fight till the end but lots of fun, I finished second 3 times but I got the A-hole on the 4th try.

epoeze
that race is so messed up, i dont even know why its in the begginer section. i tried with the autobinachi whatever with 70 horses, (more than any other car in that race) and it was impossible. as hard as i tried the cars ahead still kept pulling away. do i really have to spend cash on this crap car to win this race? or can someone suggest a better K class lightweight to use, with little modification

ps its not cause im a bad driver, or new or whatever, i got all the licsences befor i started getting into the game 👍

I won the series with the Autobianchi. I got it up to about 136 hp (I think I turboed it and changed the oil). After having trouble on the straights I just put NOS in it. Easy win if you use it on the straights only.

Can anyone tell me where i get the Autozam AZ-1 ('92)? it is is the NA version according to list im at day like 107 and havnt seen it in the lot and its not on the used car cycle list as far as i have seen. ( sorry to spam im beign frusterated)

Alpha_32
yeah i won the series with the Autobianchi too, no NAWS, i had 186hp with a stage 3 turbo....took the cappuchino to school
You can easily beat the Cappucino with 103 HP (Turbo1 + oil) and Sport suspension.

I've got a different but kind of related question...

How in the heck do you win the Suzuki Concept house race? I've dumped every mod except tires into the '02 Concept S2 that you win in the Suzuki Light race, and still get smoked by the GSX concepts. I was able to win the first of the three races by beating him off the start and tying up his racing line, but on the last 2 races there are invariably 2 or more of them.

I got mine really early on in the Used car lot 1. Cheap too. I've seen a few pop up from time to time.

Such a cool car. It is too bad we don't get cars like this in the U.S. Mid engine, gull wing door, lightweight, gotta get 50mpg. Perfect commuter/weekend warrior car.

[EDIT] I just checked my diary, I bought it Nov 4th of the first year. I know a few popped up around that time period in different colors.

I won the '72 Honda Life Step Van & so i decided to go with it. coming in @ 30hp, it was a little under powered to say the least. So i decided to work with it a little. a NA approach would yield higher cost & not as much HP, so i had to go FI. I didn't want to dump a cow into it, so it went like this:

oil change,
lightened it twice,
full adj. transmission,
put in a 1.5 LSD,
ECU,
stage 2 turbo,
& race exhaust

i ended up with a very capable 79hp little van. i ended up winning, but not without some great races with the Beat & Cappucino. i had to dial in the gearing just so, as it was key in making it competitive. as boring as this series would seem, it turned out to be a blast!
