I feel like the worst driver ever. I have made the indianapolis, after like 10-15 races. Now im trying to do the daytona track and it is impossible for me for some reason. I use the ZR1 RM all uppgrades and have tried a lot of different tuning tips but i cant make it. This scenatios is what allways happens:

1:i cant make it to 1st position in the beginnig of the race and the 1st cars goes warp speed and a lose a couple of seconds /lap to him.

2: i make it to 1st position in the beginning and a keep this position a while until a make a lite misstake and they get close and bump me from behind making me to spin out.

3:like (2) but ZR1 turn like **** or like h*ll making me to understeer and making my way out in the grass or oversteer and spin.

Got to be a terrible driver because people is saying that it is just SO easy with the ZR1 and i am beginning to really hate it!!

Solution? Saving 5mill and getting a monster car?

Id hit up the tuning section. Daytona can be difficult, but with a fully upgraded ZR1 RM is should be cake.
And if your far enough for like the wind, its probably not totally to blame on your driving.

you sure you have all upgrades? including rigidity? racing soft? driving aids on?
Mintola , the prize car, is also an easy win.

Sounds like your downforce may be out of whack. If it's super pushy, add some more DF on the nose, soften the front springs/sway and add a little toe out up front.

I haven't done that race, but oval racing isn't that bad once you learn how to draft and pass cleanly. Good luck!

After countless oversteers (using dualshock 3) in the RMed ZR1, I indeed grinded up to 5 million and bought myself a Jaguar XJR-9 LM to crush the opposition. Then I realised that with a LITTLE more patience, I could have won the championship with a ZR1 and got a Minolta for free.

What assists do you use ?
They will slow you down alot.

The only assists you should use , if any at all, is abs to 1, and skid recovery.

I didn't get along with that track and that car. I eventually had to turn on skid recovery because I kept making silly mistakes and wanted to be through it. For some reason there are like 3 places on Daytona I make silly mistakes. Usually that little S after turn 1 where you have to catch the edge of the grass or the area right before going onto the banking out of the infield.

But I used the Indy setup on the car and after turning on SRF and running a mostly clean race one time it was easy. The car has the speed but keeping it on the road is just such a challenge. It is the main reason I was happy to get to the endurance events where you can drive low powered cars and just concentrate on hitting your line.

Make sure you purchased the Rigidity Improvement modification or whatever it's called. It sells for 20,000 cr and it's in the Body/Chassis tuning menu where you buy the weight reduction mods.

The first time I took the ZR-1 to the Daytona in Like The Wind, I thought it was a tempermental POS because I would clip the grass and instantly spin, or start understeering into the grass and then I couldn't get out, among other problems. You may also need to try a couple different suspension settings and tweak the downforce a little bit. I got the rigidity mod and I found a different tune than the one I used at Indy and I maxed my downforce in both the front of the rear. That seemed to work a lot better. If you still have problems, go ahead and turn on the skid recovery force or perhaps the active steering aid. Don't feel bad; GT5's physics can be a little bit unforgiving.

As for the runaway car, are you sure that you're getting enough speed on the oval part of the track? When I beat the race, the Escudo was 4.5 seconds ahead when we turned onto the first set of banked turns on the first lap, but I caught him just past the start/finish line. The 1st place car often seems to zoom off right at the start of the race, but if your top speed is high enough on the straightaways you should be able to catch up to him easily enough.

I had the ZR1 RM but knew the harder races like "like the wind" were coming so I grinded and bought the Peugeot 908 HD FAP and won easily.

The 908 will win alot of events for you.

If it's a question and answer thread, it goes in the Questions and Answers subforum. Moved.

Thank you.

I used the Corvette ZR1 RM, and beat it the first time. I increased the downforce to max and put the top speed to 250ish I believe. You just need to block the cars from getting in front of you near the end.

It's the daytona road course, not the whole oval. I also thought it was hard. Just be patient young butterfly, you'll get it.

LOL Im good on even trying that one, I can see myself being able to but that car makes me want to break things with its 10000 ft braking and huge understeer even if tuned good.

This video really solved this problem for me.
Yes it is hard and your driving line is key and when you see the red on the driving line just let off the throttle and turn in pretty far make sure your not running into the wall alot and with this tune you will do fine.
The aids slow down your car alot here just turn them off and stay off the grass and dont bump cars much and you got it.

I also beat the other race with the same tune with turning some of the aids back on if you want those just say and I'll see if gt saves them =) its a hard race but it can be done lol Now with that toyota car I'm so happy.

If your having trouple winning this, make sure you are 2nd / 3rd when entering the final 2 bends, then cruise up in the slipstream to victory. If you enter the final turn just in the lead, chances are the AI will pass you.

Mazda Furai; Max front and rear downforce, max speed around 230+, and racing soft tires. You now have a one-way ticket to 1st place.

People said you can do it in the mazda furai which is won in the miata challenge but all I got was some rubbish FF mazda consept and I got gold?
