Gotta say that's one nice hood...

As to the engine: well, it's a LS-series small block, once you know how to build one you can build 'em all.

Yea, thats just the same exact engine package they used to do on the C5, just applied to the C6. Its a great setup though, so nothing wrong with using it again. I've only seen one in person, but it was sweeet.

yup...And I think Lingenfelter knows a thing or 2 about vettes..

Makes me wonder about the Ls7...considering they used their version of the Ls6

In the immortal words of Diddy...... "Its all about the Benjamins, baby" Why just put some turbos on a stock motor, when you can charge 4 arms and 3 legs for a built motor from them.

In all honesty though, its probably more about compression and boost really. The LS7 has an 11:1 CR. Granted, its a very stout motor. But, throw 10psi of boost in an engine thats running 11:1, and you'll spray the motor all over the road. Just too much to handle.

The LS7 was built to be naturally aspirated. And, it does that very well. But, in order to make it boost-ready, you'd have to basically rebuild the entire thing. So, why not just start with an engine they've already got that they know works well.

I'm sure the LS7 will take to your basic I/H/E mods and such very well. But, building a twin-turbo engine that makes 725hp is a whole different animal. For NA, you want lightweight for good response and revs. But, for boost, you want strength and durability to withstand the pressures.

In stock form..it's a major force to be reckoned with..

but anytime after that..
it's a showpiece?
Well, you can always swap the internals to lower the compression.

I just think that people haven't developed shorter pistons and/or rods for the LS2/LS7. Is the increased displacement coming from additional stoke, bore, or both?

Well from EVERYTHING i've seen, aftermarket wise..

427 is as big as that thing is getting....

Lingen's never gone bigger..
and i havn't seen another one any bigger

Someone at Hot Rod magazine (Ro Mcgonal(sp), maybe?) had a 502 cubic inch LS1 built for their Biscayane.

It did need some serious bottom end clearancing, though.

And was talking about shorter rods to lower the compression ratio, which won't affect the displacement. Nor will the comprssion height of the pistons.

Sweet Jesus! The Z06 now is a handfull, I can't imagine it with more horsepower. I would love, I mean, JUST LOVE to hear that thing run.

I hear alot of people say stuff like "don't you think theos power figures are a bit ott" and stuff like that about Lingenfelter Vettes and Hennessey Vipers. But then you think about the audience the cars are going to. Very exclusive, rich and most likely very big Corvette fans, and I think what if a car I really liked had a super high performance version with outrageous power and it was a car you could accept being tuned like this (some cars I just wouldn't touch from stock). This is a pretty impresive machine, no a very impressive machine. However.... TVR comparisons starting now... only kidding, I'll give you this one without them, for Blazin ;).

Actually if they had a TVR with these kinds of numbers it would make one cool shoot out. Not the Speed 12 or whatever that thing is.

Well what they could do..

Is take a Sagaris....

And throw in a BMW 3.2L cast iron i6 in there..

and make 1000HP with it...
or a 800HP "quicker" car with a smaller turbo....
...but..i'm pipe dreamin..

Ooh... That sounds amazing..

That is one of the Best looking Vettes I've ever seen.

I'll agree with skip, the hood is very nice looking. 👍👍

Thats a nice car but who needs that much hp in the US.

What kind of car guy are you? To much horsepower? What the hell?

And you don't ever need more then like a 100hp, but more is always better.

No, you don't need more than 100hp per ton, not 100hp absolute. I've driven 2ton vehicles with 85hp, and they're absolute dogs.

I think what 300zxfairman is trying to say is trying to get to is where are you going to utilize all that horsepower and not get into any trouble. It's great that you have a 1000hp Hennesey Viper or 700+HP Lingenfelter Vette or 800+HP Skyline or Supra etc. etc. etc. but for everyday use becomes the issue. On the highways the speed limit is 70 and there's traffic. You can't really enjoy your car when you want to, you're limited to what you can do(within the laws). If only we had the autobahn here we could just maybe go all out. But, since the highways are built cheap and maintenance is, :indiff: we will have to deal with these speed limits. Also, the owners of those cars can keep up with the responsibilties that comes along with buying them(maintenance, insurance, tickets, etc.).

Actually..over at Viper forums..the resident hennessey owners do drive there cars fairly regularly...however that Lingenfelter 427TT from the later days..Doesn't seem half as practical as the 1000HP viper.....

and I gotta agree with z28......

I don't know......but it looks like they're adding parts to a car that don't belong on a car that short..

The C5 yes..it had the length to fit the added hood height ETC..
but the C6 (maybe it's just the pics doing it no justice)....but...a cowled hood IMO sounds AND looks stupid..

Thats why we have a little thing called a race track ;) And drag strips too

I'm aware of those and have been to my nearest 1/4 mi drag strip to race. The thing is you can only do that like once a week(in my case). If I have a car like the Lingenfelter(nice C6 they're selling) I want to race it just about everyday.

Well the 12 is a race car with numberplates, for production cars we have600Bhp in the Typhon, but you can get aftermarket TVR's with 700Bhp+, the only thing is, I don't like them. Mainly because of the bodywork they change on most. Damn, I promised I wouldn't talk about them in my last post . No but seriousely, I'd love tosee what this can pull round a track. We already know the C6 can handle  well, and the new Z06 handles better :eek:, so I'd be interested to see how this does.

Ya it would make a good match up and I'm sure the verdict would say US people should buy the C6 and UK people should buy the TVR.
