Im trying to find all the cars that have a noticable amount of turbo lag. I seem to enjoy driving these as it gives you a better sense of acceleration and difficulty.

1. Ferrari F40
2. Civic Type R '97
3. Escudo
4. Option Z
5. HPA Golf
6. Renault 5 Turbo
7. Lancia Delta
If you guys/gals can throw some more cars out there I will add them to the list.

Its not a lag, its a hole in rpm usually in the lower rpm, thats how turbo works..its even apearing in the midlle rpm taking some time to start accelerate..

Try a fully tuned kubelwagen, set top speed to 200, floor it, and wait for the laaaaaaaaaagggggggggggg...

The Civic Type R does not have a turbo, how can it have turbo lag...Also are you discussing stock cars or those that have been modified from the tuning menu?

+1 The Civic Type R doesnt even have a turbo standard :D

Unless you got a.. how can we put it? Bad setup, it won't lag.

Don't say "you forgot" unless you follow with the Chaparral 2J, the steep gearing combined with the turbo lag makes this car USELESS below 70mph.

*wonders how many people in this thread are confusing Boost Threshold with Turbo Lag*

*appears to be the majority of the people*

Yes. Tons of turbo lag in that normally aspirated V8.

I suppose I tend to lump boost threshold in with turbo lag as both involve low boost pressure due to exhaust flow. Granted, turbo lag tends to show up more in the mid-range and when throttle depression fluctuates, whereas the boost threshold is the low range of turbocharger effectiveness when exhaust manifold pressure hasn't yet built up. As for the 2J being n/a...did the OP say anything about cars having boost lag in an unmodified state?

The Red Bull X1 has a somewhat of a turbo lag. Floor it from a very low speed and it takes some time for it to kick in

exactly, i dont notice any lag in my escudo...

Drop the engine rpm below 6000 then floor the throttle. By way of an example, accelerate to 60mph, then put the car in 4th gear and accelerate hard as you can. You've got time to read a book before the power comes back in. The Escudo delivers its power in a lump, which begins at around 6000rpm, hitting peak torque at 6500. The power drops off a bit after 8000.
If you keep it in the power zone you won't notice any lag, drop out of it and you'll be screaming at your tv.

(This will not work so well if you've got a ridiculously short gearbox though)

On Top Gear they said the Evo X lags... But i don't know if it's like that in the game

That was that mental 430ish HP version that kept up with a Lambo, not the standard Evo X. It had an enormous turbo compared to the usual 300 HP one.
I'm not sure which is featured in the game though.
