No... I have drawn my own conclusions (rightly or wrongly) from research... I was asking for an opinion to compare my own against. Perhaps that was just as ambiguous as Toronado's post.

Then the Type V models sit above the standard ones, but they provide a marginal improvement on the basic car (I'm not even sure what the improvements are).

The Type V models feature VGS (Variable Gear Steering) which means that the steering ratio varies with different speeds, and also different suspension. I don't know if the game reflects these differences (Does anyone else know?). At least the VGS causes the Type V to be a little heavier than others, which can be seen in the stats.

The EU S2000's have headlight washers. Probably some other differences too, but that's the biggest visual difference from the others.

I doubt this is reflected, but, at least on the UK S2000, they had different suspension alignments that helped give more predictable handling compared to US/JDM suspensions.

The US S2000's are left-hand drive. The US '04 should have a 2.4L engine with different torque.

Redline also down to 8000 from 9000.
 
Yeah, reading the description page, it says that the redline was adjusted in 2005 dialing it down to 8,000rpm. It also says that 17' wheels were added in 2003.
So these things should make a difference between the road going cars(excluding the tuners). Does anybody have experience with them?
 
The Opera S2000 is an endurance race car used in some japanese endurance races. It always annoys me when people try to use it in no race cars rooms... :p

The one from the Amuse dealership Is the most expensive and powerful 'stock' S2000. It's a very good car, I recommend it, I just can't remember the price.

When bob drives the S2000's in the 9 hour endurance races he does better in the GT1 Turbo than the AEM or LM cars. I used to run the 9 hour endurance races while the online service was down. I also tried them out at other tracks with the same results. The LM car will not allow you to build the motor anywhere close to the GT1 Turbo or AEM and the AEM just doesn't seem to do as well for bob.

I have not driven these cars enough myself in a-spec though to be sure. I believe the GT1 Turbo is 616 hp with a fresh oil change.

Trim packages and wheels aren't things that constitute a different car, especially when they aren't even done correctly.

I'd agree with that sentiment. The trim differences shouldn't be counted as a different car, especially for non-premiums. I am however completely fine with the trim differences being included in the game. They just need to be listed as sub-models or purchase time options rather than advertising points to inflate the car count
