As the 1.10 Patch only came out yesterday, and as no thread like this has been created yet, I decided that it would be a good idea to create a list with all of the racing suits and helmets available in GT5 now (along with pictures/icons of the gear).As there are many items, I will sort the racing gear by:
  • Suit/Helmet
  • The name/pattern of the gear (i.e:Carbon,Aqua,Cross,etc)
  • The update when it was introduced (if Polyphony does decide to add new suits in future updates)
I would appreciate it if fellow GTPers were able to gather names and pictures on the various racing suits and contribute to this thread, as I don't get a lot of time to play PS3 (as i'm busy with my commitments at high school).

I too believe that there are 30 of each helmet/suit design.
 
How are you getting these, new events, TT and DT don't give all them, yes Golded all!?
 
All of mine were either: the 8 suits+helmets that the update gives you, my A-spec driver's outfit+helmet, my 6 b-spec driver's suits+helmets, or prizes from the new seasonal races/time trial-drift event.

Suits and helmets are being traded around too.
 
To generate 16 new items
Use a Secondary accounts which has save which has not been updated to the New 1.10 save data, it will generate 16 new items each time the save is re downloaded from PS+ hosting or memory card. You then move those new 16 items to your primary account....

1 Load GT5 on secondary account.
2 Gift suits to Primary account
3 Quit GT5
4 Copy OLD PS+ or memory card save back to Save data or just delete save.
5 Reload GT5 go to 2.
6 Repeat as offen as needed.
7 instantly devalue any of the rare suits.

Suit number is just colours used..highest number should be 30 yep..

What do you have to do to win the suits in the time/drift trials? is there a gold lap time/score like the licenses or is it based on online leaderboards?

Yep gold to bronze will win a random item of gear. But they are just as likely to be the same as your current suits as there random.
 
I've got a couple of extra accounts for remote race grinding and all of the intitial 8 sets seem to be couple of patterns in random colors. Double Stripe, Bi-color, Trainee, and maybe a couple of others for the suits. Horizon, Chopper, Masquerade and Striker for the helmets. So saving and reloading will only get you full sets of those. Seems the more "exotic" designs are only from placing well in the seasonals.

But the suits you get from a new account are the common ones, double stripe, trainee, bi-colour 1 and 2. At least that is all I have received from loading a new account. To get the others you have to win the seasonals.
 
I would appreciate it if we could get people to take photos of the various racing suits so that we can have a list along with pictures of the actual gear

I believe so, and also 30 of each suit. Just look in the marketplace to see. So all those types we've found have 30 different colour sets. =)

i think i won some helmets too named Carbon24(purpleish)Black Vision 13(grey with white sash that changes width)Auqa 11(Gold/yellow with blue chin area /or bib)

Common sense confirms it.

I noticed very quickly that each number represents a color palette, so Chopper 16 and Horizon 16 are the same color palette but a different design. It appears that the same color palette will match for both helmet and suit of the same number, though I have found suit numbers being a different color from the helmet palette.

So, the different names are different designs, and then the numbers represent the color palettes applied to those designs. There's thirty palettes, so logic would suggest that thirty for each design.
 
There is a bug with the Costumes

I had Double Stripe 02 and Bicolour 1 02 but they are exacally the same color and design there is compleltly no differece between them ?

Same thing happens with the paint chips, or some other times you'll find that the exact same item shows up twice. Just try to equip it to refresh it's picture.

One thing though...
So far I've seen lists, ways to get the gear and blah, blah...but no one seams to have noticed that you can also get the STIG'S HELMET, aswel Vettel's, Loeb's, and so on...am I the only one to notice this?
They all show up in the update intro movie, and it makes sense since thay are all in the game for the "driver" to use.

However, I haven't seen any mentioning or category for these helmets...

Changes:

1A Set applicable seasonal vehicles to "share" on main acct. and friend yourself
2A Use said vehicles to win seasonals on secondary acct.
2B Gift rare suits to primary account

*6 vehicles need to be shared for max efficiency.
1- Fiat 500
2- Lotus 111R
3- Subaru STi
4- TT 493hp car of choice
5- TT 295hp French car of choice
6- Drift car of choice
