Im new, and I have a little phobia.

When Im driving, sometimes I take a turn real bad, staying too close to the inside corner and driving onto the grass.

Lets say it's a right turn. I never turn left to get onto the road again, I just go strait until I get back onto the track.

should I break me pfobia and turn the wrong way onto the track, or should I keep driving forward and not turn at all?

ERM. Just win the race. But, when I first got the very 1st gran turismo. I studied the AI's line for that course. Follow their line, and you should be good. BTW, are you using a Steering wheel or Dual Shock 2 controller?

Do you get anxiety attacks if you do the opposite?

If no, that is no phobia.

If yes, I suggest you see a cognitive therapist who can help you properly.

Welcome to GTPlanet. :)

Oh yes. I didn't see he was a new member.

WELCOME TO GTP,
OfUnknownOrgin!!!!

thanks

Im using the dualshock2, and no, I don't get anxiety attacks (unless that is when you start trembling and everything starts to speed up and you feel like you have one second to make the decision and if you dont then many, many people will die)

Im just wondering which method would be quicker

I don't know why. But I know what your thinking.
You think this is one of those, feel-bad-for-me-and-give-me-attention threads, huh?

But. Im not gonna think like that. Just go with the flow.

I was bein sarcastic

I do want to know which method of getting out of taking a turn too close would be, driving straight or turning out of it.

btw, would that be oversteer or understeer?

thanks for teh responces, and welcome

Just follow the AI's line. Thats all the practice you need.

or...... you can play more until eventually youll get good at it and you can make your own lines as long as they are on the road.

remember, "practice makes perfect" not even perfect because no one is perfect. but you know what i mean

I honestly don't what to know what an unknown orgin is...

Over/understeer have nothing to do with the physical act of steering. Simply put oversteer is where the back of the car wants to carry on going straight while you're turning the corner and understeer is where the front of the car wants to carry on going straight while you're turning the corner.

ahh.. the light has shined it al makes sense now... so i take it that FF cars have understeer eh? :O :O :O

But the AI's line is much easier to follow.

ok, I know I should follow the AI's line, but I don't like forrlowing an example (even if it benifits me :) )

sorry about the over/understeer thing, that was the wrong way to word it.

Ive been playing for a while, im at 80% now, and Ive had this little thing the whole time :banghead: :banghead:

stay off the grass... no double meanings!

I know but I am human and humans make mistakes, the grass calls for me!!

I just wanna know how to get off fastest and maintain a high exit speed as I leave the turn

how about this instead of exiting from the grass going striaght then needing to make a sharp turn into whatever direction you're going. slowly turn in the direction the turn is while slowly moving towards the pavement. seems to me like your best bet.

lol, talking grass!!

if you hit the grass and want the quickest time... well the sooner you can get off the grass w/o turning too much is best. grass slows you down. If you turn too much to get back on the road then it will slow you down more and you may lose control. the quickest way in most circumstances is to stay on the road of course.

I hate the grass too, especially in lisence tests...

"okay, guys, we'll need some gasoline and a match, lets finish the grass off once and for all!"

Where the hell did that come from?

me too sometimes when iam playing nascar in the arcades and i hit the wall and the car gets stuck to the wall but i never turn the opposite direction

Hey (ofunknownorigin) i usually have that problem until i found the solution. pick a reallyy good car like f1 for exsample and take it to the supr speed way and test its turning, once u kno the cars turning take it to a track. race the same track over and over and over until u can go into a turn and do the tightest possible turn but on the road while still pushing the cars turning radius to the limit. once this is achieved do it to other tracks. soon ull see a track kno every turn and win races easily, repeat instructions abve with any diff car if pain increases, side-affects may include victory chants, screaming at AI, and white residU around the stick on ur controller  :D
