I couldn't find a good title for my own livery thread, so I came up with this..

My first livery is inspired by a cat.. a very handsome and expensive cat ! She's also known as Le Aerocat ! The Renault F1 team came earlier this season with a remarkable bargeboard, there were different reactions on twitter and they saw a cat in the silhouette of this bargeboard. Because this weekend at COTA everything turned pink..(because of Pink ribbon, breastcancer awarenes) Renault decided to turn their beloved fast kitty into that same colour... Le Aerocat got viral !!

So that was my first inspiration this weekend, inspired by the original Renault Sport logo and partners, I tried a realistic livery based on their colours, Le Aerocat ofcourse and their partners. Funny I couldn't find the official Infinity partner, but AEM has also this name patented + is available as decal ;

Now I had this Beetle buggy too, but in an other package, named Blitzer !

On google images I found a better, more Beetle-like variation to that theme...

And this is what you get if you're loosing yourself for at least 4 hours playing with decals, angles.. scaling... arrrghhh

In honour to Tamiya for such a great toy, +15 years I enjoyed the Blitzer Beetle.. Small logo's on each side + ...

An older livery I made on the last day of GT Sport demo. Later, after the first photo's were made, I saw that error behind the light-grey striping.. Damn

Would love to make this livery again, together with his smaller brother, the DS3 in same colours-theme.

How’d you make the flames on the bug change colors?

Using a lot of layers... About 30 on each side. First making the background, 3 layers. Then making the outlines of the 'flames', which are around 8 to 10 layers each side. And the most difficult part is filling and covering the other parts with black, mostly I use elipse-shape to do that. Not 100% satisfied with the center of the door.. Looks silly.

I agree with you on the rims, but couldn't pick the right colour, I need more like a neon look, so I decided to pick a contrasting colour and the flames/drips popping out thanks to the special blue colour on the rims.

This morning I got inspiration from the taillights of one of the cars in GT Sport.... The Mini VGT !

What if... I put.. eyes on the rear side of the car ? Silly, I know.. but it's looks funny and a kind of distraction to my opponents..

Friday I bought the AMG Safetycar for 4000 milage points. I just needed at leasts one safetycar to do something I'd in mind for a long time..

Not only racing series have their own safetycar, tracks do have their own safetycar(s) as well. And because Mercedes is German, I got finally the Nordschleife decal and my idea... I made a fictional livery for a non excisting 24h race // race-safety car !

Action shots on The Ring

When you look close at it, you'll see some red throught the decal of the Nordschleife, but it's hardly recognisable from a distance.
THe idea was to make a kind of gradient with stripes from light to dark, together with some 'ghosting' of the same stripes at the back of the car.

Finally made a new livery to share ; It's Tom Coronels livery from his WTCC ('17) car, made on the NSX ! It's open for download with #roalmotorsport #tomcoronel #dhl . There could be a hickup with the red decals on the A-frame of the windshield. To repair this, you've to select the two red decals in 'body' section, at the bottom of the stack. (do I say that right?)

Some new liveries I made the last weeks. First two cars are a kind of project I call it the RedBall (haha) Art Cars. Hope I can create many others ;

Latest livery I made, was thanks to a creative inspiration of one of the patterns I downloaded a few days ago.. It's not a Toyota SFR anymore, it's The Grasshopper !

Next, I think as soon as the Ferrari F40 was available to buy (or win), it became one of those popular cars to (mis)treat with decals..
Curious what you think of this partly retro/modern livery ?!

By uploading the pictures I saw a few flaws in the depth of the decals, the vodafone decal for example on this Ferrari and the IGN decal on the rear wing of the Lexus..

One of the fastest & best liveries I made.. It was completed within a hour... Number 33 is my favourite number since I discovered online racing, back in 2010. Later, 2014, Max Verstappen came up with this same number as his personal racing number. I downloaded 'his' #33 for this livery and it suits the car pretty well.

March 2018 Update

I made a few cars in the first monts of this year. The first one, the Alfa Romeo 4C is even made in early December, 2017, but I didn't shared it in this thread.. The new thread about Martini liveries mentioned me to share this livery I'm proud of.. very racy I've to admit. This livery can be found with #martini #ozracing #nvidia

One of the funniest things to do is to create small series of liveries !! These are the first three out of 5 tribute art cars I made on the Renault Megane Trophy.

For the Livery Editor Competition 09 I created this barn find DeTomaso Pantera, based on the Pantera that showed up in Herbie movie "Herbie goes to Monte Carlo". This was also my first ever 'dirt' car I made, over 400 till 500 decals used to make the odd rusty crust, a huge paint splatter on the roof and engine-cover, a green spare headlight cap.. Both cars, the barn find Mister 66 and his new born clean tux version (like I named the car that way in the final entry) are being shared with the same #'s : #detomaso #pantera #GTplanet

Today, the first day of the July update it was awesome to see there are already so many helmet uploads made in the new editor, same with the suit-editor.

Me, as a Dutch enthusiast, I had to check if there was already a Jos Verstappen helmet design, and I coudln't find any design with Max his father's helmet. Max helmet is already been made, 4 of them I checked earlier this evening. And so I was motivated to be the first, don't know why I want that, but somewhere it feels nice..

So I made something like a mix-up between two designs.. Number 1 and number 2
And so I created the following design. Really enjoyed the easy work like the way you work on the cars + the spherical function is helpfull too. Only one downside on this editor ; You can't zoom in that much and for a helmet design it's a bit painful you can't be that precise !

Kind of an update ;

I love making series, just when I've some inspiration working on an existing series in my livery-garage. Sometimes just to start something new. The following 'theme' could be an endless series of coulour combinations, special paint colours combined with a variety of decal-settings like gloss, matte or powder settings. Update :

As a courier I make a lot of miles each day. Somewhere between 200 and 350 miles on an average 8-10 hour day. Sometimes less, sometimes more.
radio is like a colleague for me, it's my partner while driving, having fun with it and as a big music (alternative-rock) enthusiast, I discovered about 20 years ago, 3FM was my homie, my best pal. This week a DJ made his last hours (after 12 years) for 3FM and I had some inspiration to make something in GTsport with his move from 3FM to Qmusic (hitstation, not my taste).

- His name is Domien and the title of his program was for a long time Dit is Domien = This is Domien. With one of the latest updates to put your driver along the car I had the inspiration for the first gimmick.

- At the rear, you see GenreMasjien Inside, a fun item in his show for the (mostly Dutch) acts to perform one of their own tracks in a different kind of genre. I'm very certain he will take this idea/item to his new show to his new studio, so the GenreMasjien (phonetic) had to be on the van somewhere.

- He started a podcast show recently with two other guys from the radio, about masculine stuff, the podcasts iis called ManManMan, so it was was to do something with the mics and the name and found a spot at the roof on the rear.

- A few years ago Domien talked about wanting a cat, to his surprise he got a kitten from one of his collegaues, he was called Decibel. Decibel had to be on the car and it was fun to explain my 'love' for 3FM to have Decibel on the car not wanting to leave 3FM as well. + a little joke with the boy peeing over the Q logo at the rear.

- And of course some nice Thank You's around the van, it's always special and a kind of awkward to hear someone leaving this or another radio station. The presents, the kind words, as a listener you realy get the feeling you're in the studio of these kind of farewells and special occasions.

Oh and this whole thing had another trick upon the sleeve, last picture is a text I put on the back of the van, asking for one of the (very) last coffee mugs he was given away for a long time. And I got it iwth the post yesterday.

small Update ;

Like the previous update, with the VW Sambabus, this is also about the same radio station. The DJ who replaced Domien at 3FM is Sander and he made something I really do like. In his second week in his new morning show, he was that brave (or dumb) to speak out his private number on national radio.
With all the people who like this radio and new show, he started a whatsapp group of friends, and withing 2 weeks time now, we goota know eachother more and more.. Really interesting what is happening there. So last week, I asked in the SVG Request thread, if someone was able to make an SVG image for me..

And luckily @McDotter did !! Thank you very much.. Now I was able to make this bad-ass Mini Cooper, with bands in the punk/rock scene ;

Hopefully will come with another update soon and non radio related #fangirl #groupie

It is a known problem from Flickr. Delete all the cache files and the images should load again correctly.

Small update
I was totally in love as soon the teaser pics came online from Kaz.. That Datsun 240Z shape.. Oh boy ! 👍

Then it became clear it wasn't a normal 240Z but the Greddy Fugu Z. I don't mind, the old Datsun is still recognizable as a Datsun, only with some bits and pieces extra. So.. As soon I saw those fenders, I was asking myself, how will they look in black ?

I've shared it and it could make it a bit easier for you guys without the annoying part of placing the decals correctly on the fenders.

An IMSA-flavoured update

Okay, being a bit chauvinistic here, but one of my favourite drivers in endurance / GT racing is the man from Holland with the name Jeroen Bleekemolen.
He drives almost every weekend of the year, his pace very stable and a reliable driver for all the teams he delivered fantastic races, podiums and race or class wins.

Riley Motorsports announced their retro livery for this IMSA championship in 2019 and I couldn't believe my eyes..

It's one of the best liveries in GT I've seen the past 10 years ! So, that got me thinking... Shall I ?? Yes, I did !

This tweet from Jeroen helped me a lot to make the livery !

Update ;

I had an idea a long while ago and finally started to upload the first liveries of a fictional GT3 series, based on the colours and liveries of Dutch transport/logistic companies (their trucks). I've always been interested in transport and some of these companies have a strong package of logo, colours etc etc. It was an easy give away to do something with it.

Hopefully I'm not the only one with this kind of inspiration Would be fun to see other GT-Transport liveries from around the world. Well, these are the first four of them. A few more companies to come.

Another update, I was totally flabbergasted with the 90-ish livery of Williams Racing for this season. I like it, I think !

So I made a GT version of it, for the upcoming Nurburgring 24H (online) for the Williams Esports team, it's loosely inspired on the Williams they presented last monday. Maybe I've to change the silver into a better white or white pearl effect, from some angles it looks like a MercedesGP car.

It was really fun to working on this livery, I used the idea of 'pacific coast''with cool 'ocean' kind of colours together with the Duke Sound system decals and the front and back numberplate (like the phrase from My Chemical Romance's Na Na Na) to make it a sound-themed car, sound + radio, just that.

While I was working on the left side, I came up with the idea to make a seamless (triple ?) stripe all around the car. At the front I created an asymmetrical bonnet.
I was thinking of using the cameleon paints, but in the end made the car white + two gradients top and bottom to make it more 'pacific'.

The number four I've choosen, first I thought about 6 about the Tuscan Speed 6, but the digit 6 didn't fit properly behind the palm tree. The number 4 did fit properly and it's a N400 class car. Hope you like it, I'll share the car in GTS later today or this week !

Made some liveries past year for the LEC's ! Really enjoying that and like the last contest, had good fun to make a Mini Cooper for the GTPlanet Mini Cup !

(Didn't know if this silly joke works in English, but made a small decal directly aside of the rear window, a baby holding the two team logo's, reffering to one of my favourite tracks in my youth, Ice Ice Baby.. )
