Loading games in GT3

Hi Gumpy...i am still working on it....the thing that confusing me is when people have been asking if i have been saving my replays and not my championships....well there must be something wrong with my memory card...i am saving these files aparently...but i cant load them...just to make sure i go to replay theatre to see if i have been saving replays...there is just one old replay file in there that was saved months ago but none of the more recent ones...

anyway, i about to give up...whatever it is i am saving is not appearing on my card even though it says the save was successful..

When you are at the screen where you select save can you list the buttons from left to right ?

In my game this is the story.

From memory I think they are:

Continue Save Replay Save Exit

The Save in second spot is for replays and when you click it you get a view of what is on both of your mem cards. The first item is always new save and if you click this you get an alphanumeric screen but it has Save Replay as the heading at the top.

The Save in 4th spot is for the championship/game save and when you click it it goes to a screen with Slot 1 and Slot 2. You choose which card you want to save on and then click save and ok. There is no alphanumeric when you click this button.

When you have saved a championship in my version you must not save again or that championship can not be restarted.

So I save the championship and usually get back to the opening screen and switch off. I come back the next day or whenever and when the game has reloaded it takes me straight back to the championship where I saved it previously. I can not save in a championship and then save the game again. Saving the championship is saving the whole game including the garage.

Hopefully this makes sense. If not and you want to discuss further feel free to send me a PM and we will get to the bottom of this. When my video camera is fixed I will take screenshots to explain what I mean.

After you save a championship what do you do ? Do you then "save the game". If so the saved game will include the championship as if you quit out of it and you must restart from the beginning. This is why you can only save 1 championship at once.

yes, i think what i was doing was saving a championship...then quitting it then playing a few more tracks of a different game then saving the whole game before i switched it off in order to save the money i had earned in the games after or before i entered the championship.....does that make sense?

okay so...
say for instance you are on stage 4 of a 7 stage championship race and you want to stop it for now, turn the system off, go to bed, get up and go to work and come home, turn on the system and come back to finish it off and be able to continue it at the start of stage 5...

would i save the championhip after the 4th race, then just turn it off without any further saving and without quitting the chamionship? is that right?....the instruction manual you get with the game is a bit sparse on detail...

PS..i am thrashing every stage right now in my Escort Rally Car!! bring on all comers especially the Castrol Supras and the Orcea Vipers...they are particularly satisfying to beat....i love to hammer full speed in to the hairpins and knock the vipers flying off in to the sand, using them as a brake and then fling round the corner....then stopping to wait for 'American power at its finest' to catch up..before doing it again.....yes, the Escort is a fast little machine with 530+bhp 5wd and amazing handling if its tuned properly..
 
Yes. After you save it in the championship and it says ok and you click ok do not save again.

You can do other stuff but do not save again because if you do then you will lose the ability to complete the championship.

When you reload it should be in the middle of the championship.

When you thought all you were doing was saving championship progress you were actually saving your whole game. When you saved again you saved over your previous save.
