Hi! I don't know if someone already came out with this idea (and i didn t found any similar).

I would like to have an option to limit a race to a certain time (like 20min, 1h, etc) — instead of a X number of laps — and the winner would be the car passing the finish line in the 1st place after the clock reached 0:00:000.

This could be nice to long races...strategies would have to be changed along the race due to accidents, tire wear, etc because we wouldn t have the reference of the total laps.

What do you guys think? 💡

ps: I apologize for my not so good english :/

Yes many people are wishing this. Since there's no way to make this happen in the game, many leagues are using a system where the races are made to last for 99 laps but when the determined time has been reached (total time of race in the top hand corner) and the leader passes the line he announces "Checkered flag" in the chat and everyone will stop after the finish line.

Only other way to do is is to estimate how many laps it will take to reach the amount of time you want the race to last.

I don't exactly know how online works but people would exploit it. They'd enter a race, do nothing and wait until time is over, then finish and get the prizes.

With the way the game handles the finishing order of timed races, they would also have to implement the possibility of waiting until every driver finishes the race in order to have accurate results. It would be rather a problem if the leader ended up in last place because the game didn't wait for him to finish.

Actually, we should already have that option anyway. It's so annoying when the game ends while people are still racing neck-and-neck back in the pack. It should work that way for the timed races offline too, would solve a lot of problems at the Nürburgring in particular.

Once upon a time, GT endurance races actually waited for everyone to finish all the laps if you were willing to do so(not that that's an accurate way to do it). Now they seem to just wait a random amount of time between 10 and 100 seconds after you finish.
