So my work have recently changed systems and we now use Salesforce.

However in recent weeks they have asked for us to switch on LNA in Chrome to allow functionality of Sales Force and the Amazon Phone Systems we use.

I have no desire to allow them access to my network at home and I see no good reason. The functionality of their systems shouldn’t need access?

Or am I missing something and have no reason to be concerned or put off by them wanting this turning on?

It just struck me as a weird request.

Thing is, this is their laptop too and pop ups are controlled by the company so I wouldn’t see those requests, they could just auto accept them.

I just don’t get why the company would want us to turn this feature on unless they want to track things.

We have had some staff log in via a hotspot while out doing shopping and the like and assume they want to be able to check if this is the case.

I just don’t know enough to be 100% certain either way of the companies legitimacy.

Then it makes even more sense to enable it as it is harmless to enable and was enabled by default before. It is due to Chrome update last year blocking any connections to local services installed on laptop so things won't work correctly if you don't enable it, it is not to track your network but to access services installed on your laptop already.

I thought you were concerned because it was potentially a personal device. As it is a work laptop, it has likely got a lot of spyware installed for compliance reasons which likely tracks every keyboard input, every webpage you go on and instant remote access without even prompting you which is more to be concerned by so best to avoid doing anything personal related on such a device.
