My steering wheel feels unresponsive
It is recommend that you set the wheel to 360 degrees of turning lock and 0% speed sensitivity. We also recommend that you do not set the steering lock to anything higher than 450 degrees without then also adjusting the lock settings for your car in the advanced setup screens. Using the Logitech control panel set the steering lock to 360 degrees, then in-game select the appropriate preset for the wheel. Also using the in-game options set the speed sensitivity to 0% and ensure the steering deadzone is set to 0%. We recommend this as a good starting point however you may want to spend some time tweaking these values to better suit your driving style.
And it felt pretty nice, VERY nice compared to the X360 version.
Steering sensitivity is the way the wheel reacts at different amounts of lock. With low sensitivity, it's less responsive at low amounts of input but very snappy when you approach full lock. High sensitivity means that it's very responsive around the center, but not when you start turning the wheel. Here's a quick illustration that might help you:
So, I think the best way to set a wheel up would be to use 50% sensitivity and rather use the turning lock adjustment if you think it feels too unresponsive. That way you won't get snappiness in either end, but a more predictable response across the wheel range.
I set the deadzone up to 2% as you suggested and moved lock down to 50%.
But I put all sensitivities and 50% even speed steering. Feels perfect to me.
Also FFB is set to 8.
Thanks for the info on sensitivity I would never have guess the meaning. Why don't they have some info in the menu to explain the meaning of each setting?
I think the default setup for this game is awful. Maybe they rushed it out.
Anyone who's using a DFP... here's the settings I use... Feel really comfortable to me Almost the same as GT5... a bit of deadzone is still there but minimal...
