Logitech DriveFX for the 360.

Weak, it's still really fake FF, just makes the wheel shake, no "feedback". Gay, and not worth the Money. MS will never have a good wheel with the way they are doing things.

All of these steering wheels are utter trash. They don't change to replicate the feel of each car and they always feel so vague, until you get the wheel jolting in your hand in a electric way. I've never owned one, I have one attached to a real engine. In the same way, I wouldn't want to control that with buttons or triggers.

Are you negative about everything?

Only when companies neglect the consumer and make it impossible to get 3rd party support with good features.

MS will not release the SDK's for true force feedback to 3rd party hardware companies, because they do not want them making them. This means that ONLY Microsoft can make a "true" force feedback wheel for the 360, and EVERY SINGLE microsoft FF wheel I've owned PALES in comparison to the Logitech wheels I've owned.

MS is making bad moves here, so yes, I'll be negative about it.

I don't see anything special about this wheel. I mean, sure it would be nice to play PGR3 and TDU (and upcoming Forza 2) with a wheel, but let's see:

- not real Force Feedback (though good imitation I guess)
- doesn't work with PC
- works with Xbox360
- doesn't have shift stick

It is only $100, but I don't have room for another wheel. Maybe if I was rich, I would buy it just so I could play PGR3 and Forza 2 when it comes out, but I'm not rich so.

It's not even the 180 degrees (as most race cars are only 180 or less anyway)...it's the fact that the feedback offers no input to the user what so ever. With the DFP, I know when I lose grip, I can feel the weight of the car, but with this? You only know when you hit something....that's very weak....and it's trash.

Did you read the review?

I'll most likely sell my DFP when the G25 comes out, for PC and PS3 use. So I can use that cash towards this wheel. If it's made by Logitech, I expect it will be of a nice quality, and more than capable of being a solid improvement over the controller for Forza and GTR. So no complaints from me. Other than the fact that MS are being idiots and not releasing the info manufacturers need to make a true FF wheel. Can't they see it would only sell more consoles if they have a wider selection of peripherals?

This wheel is a piece of trash. Better stick with the controller.

Are you speaking from experience ? To each his own, but I suspect you don't even have the wheel.

I have the Drive FX and it's by far the best wheel available now. And yes, I've got experience with the MadCatz and Joytech Nitro. You'd be foolish not to spend another $20 - $30 and get much better quality.

Regarding the axial feedback, I was quite pleased by it, gives a pretty decent approximation of force feedback. It's a lot better than the Speedster 3's "force shock" .

That said, the Drive FX and the effectiveness of the axial feedback are kind of dependant on the software. The wheel does have 4 sensitivity settings, but I don't know what games Logitech calibrated it with, because only the least sensitive setting works very well for me. It's like there should have been one or two more levels of adjustment.

PGR3 - Works the best with this game.
TDU - Controls well enough but the axial feedback effects are minimal.
Forza - Axial feedback works nicely in the turns but the sensitivity is wrong. There is no deadzone so the car wanders in a straight line - no way to dial this out.

That's not so. I blame the reviewer, he did not describe it well. It's not a case of the wheel just shaking in your hands with some kind of "magic fingers" vibration effect. :irked:

There are internal motors. As you corner, you can feel the wheel "loading up" with more tension or force. When your tires break traction, you feel the wheel's tension suddenly relax. It's similar to the GT Force in steering feel, but more muted.

Capture card is the way to go & Jimmy know that I have a DFP, cause I'm selfish.

iv'e got a DFP aswell, and the 180 degree mode sucks it stops dead at 90 degrees eachway unlyk most wheels that go a bit past it.(Nt that i use the 180 mode anyway except in hotpursuit 2).Does this whell go a bit past the mark? If not i'll probably give it a miss...

It goes a little bit past. 200 degrees you might say. If you and Mr. Deap need the full 900, there's nothing for it but to stick with the DFP and the PS2.

are there any games on the 360 that support the DFP?Ive plugged it in and tryed PGR3 but it didn't work. I highly doubt it would work on anything but you never know, it works on microsoft computers lol.

The USB ports on the 360 are read only, so the DFP doesn't work.

Right. And so far as we know now, there's no sign that the upcoming G25 wheel will work with the 360 either. Forza 2 and GTR are the games I'm really looking forward to, and I think the only good available wheels will be the Drive FX and the new MS wireless one. The latter will cost $140 though.

I don't know for the Logitech but I bought the Mad Catz for playing TDU and it works very well. No FFB but I've got really goods sensations with it.

Impossible to play PGR3 with a wheel 'cause too much arcade

Both games are very arcade. Though PGR3 really focus on racing. Unlike most racing games around, you can make calculated pass & such. The gearbox setup give you a huge penalty on corner when your line isn't good. The game is so fast peaced, that it don't leave you a chance when you make a mistake. A half good racing gamer get passed easily by an high level player(More noticeable in PGR3). :sly:

PGR3 has the best kind of auto-transmission in a game, because if you start to oversteer too much, hitting the B button knocks it down a gear and pulls it back in line. Gladly they've re-used this idea in Test Drive, although probably not to the same benefit. PGR 3's handling is probably the most enjoyable of any racing game and TDU is a bit shoddy.
