Logitech Driving Force GT Issues

During the startup, the wheel starts calibrating by turning to the right until hitting the wheel lock after the proper amount of turns. However, when it turns back to the left it turns 90 degrees past center and locks with the GT symbol flashing. I have contacted the Logitech support center but they keep sending me the same copy/paste steps to the Logitech Gaming Software which did not work. Can someone else help me?

Note: Logitech just sent me an email saying that they give up.

Maybe the optical encoder wheel is loose or broken. Look at 3:20:
