The G25 costs twice as much so I'm thinking that one has to be better. So if I want the wheel for the most realism, should I go with the G25? Can anyone give me their opinion for which wheel I should get for GT5P? Thanks.

Buy the G25. Full stop.

DFGT= No clutch, No shifter, Plastic (still a good wheel though)

G25= Clutch, Shifter, Realistic pedal feel, Metal, Smoother and more realistic FFB

Need I say more?

Well, I will anyway...

The G25 is not TWICE as much. A g25 will run you about $75 to $100 more than a DFGT.

;)

go with the g25. the shifter and clutch takes every game you use it on to a whole new level.

I agree, I setup the G25 for the first time yesterday. I had a DFP before. No comparison, the clutch and shifter are amazing! No contest here!

I have owned all Logitech wheels to date and I am in complete agreement with everyone. G25 all the way. :dopey:

I recenly got the old Driving Force Pro, but I'm returning that for a G25. It is much more expensive, but what really sold me was the steering. The center spring is much more responsive than the DFP. There is no way to control a drift in the DFP because the steering is really stiff.

I will make do with my DFP until Gran Turismo 5 is realeased, why theres no doubt that the G25 is the better wheel, the DFP is still a dam good wheel, and ideal for those on a budget

Agreed on all parts. :sly:👍

I think the Logitech GT has optical wheel sensor and the G25 does not which would make the GT more acurate and responsive especially in long term use with regard to wear and tear. I sure wish the GT came with a clutch, but I'm sure they will come out in the future when Sony gets a licensing agreement.

The G25 uses an optical wheel sensor... It is the best wheel logitech makes.

If you don't care much for the clutch, I would put my money on the GT. What drives me crazy about the G25 is the lack of buttons on the wheel. In a PC sim such as Rfactor or GTR2, buttons on wheel are a MUST. Most guys using the G25 in my league have had to add homemade button box.

Personnaly, I don't really care for the clutch and Hshifter, so my choice would be the GT. FF and handling are comparable to the G25. It was designed after the G25 so logitech incorporated some good elements from that wheel into the GT. it is also the same size as the G25.

Of course, the major drawback are the pedals.. I don't know what Logitech was thinking there.. but if like me you are used to the DFP pedals, transition is going to be easy. Here in Canada the GT is trully half the price of the G25..

If you like to do drifting and go vintage racing I think the G25 works best. But if you are looking for the best lap times and advantage in whatever type of racing I think the GT has the advantage since you can adjust the settings of your car on the fly when in a race. Having that option will give you an edge if you initially get the wrong settings before the start of the race. I also think the full version of the game will include weather change tire wear and maybe brake wear. Oh and car damage and you will definitely need to make setting adjustment in mid race.

I recently got my GT wheel and It has made it more convienient to make adjustments for brake bais, torque split if AWD and traction control without exiting the race and going back in to make changes if the car dosen't feel right. Specially when jumping from track to track I tend to miss something at pre race setup.

Has anyone tried pluging in the G25 pedals into the GT wheel to see if it will work or can make it work with a clutch?

you can easily use Live adjustment on G25.
I've mapped that on R3, D-pad and X on the shifter, and that works fine.

Since The DFGT have the cheap plastic pedals as the DFP I would recomend you to rather pay 162$ more and get a wheel with pedals with quality. Then I switched from G25 to the old Momo with identical cheap pedals as the DFP It felt terrible, the pedals were almost laying flat and the brake were very light to push on and the whole pedalplate were very light so you can´t gas to hard if you don´t want it to slide away. The pedals from the G25 do almost tilt 90 degree, the brake is hard to push just like in real and the pedalplate is heavy.

Here´s the G25 and DFGT

I'm also planning to upgrade. Using a DFP now.

The developers of the DF GT talk a lot about how easy it is to feel the road surface with the DF GT, such as when the car loses its grip on the road.

Does it do this better than the G25, given that the G25 is older? Or is G25 still in a class of its own? I guess it should be, given the price.

What im curious about is how distracting is adjusting stuff via the DFGT mid race? I would have thougt it would put you off and be difficult, esp with tracks that are quite twisty and only have a couple of straights (Suzuka comes to mind).

Anyone care to enlighten me??

Cheers!

whas a bit distracting in the beginning, but(as so many things in life)you get used to it and now i change stuff while driving allmost without looking at the screen or buttons on the wheel....👍

spyrrari.

Aside from the ingame adjusting and realistic feel...the G25 works both on ps2 and ps3, but the DFGT only on ps3 right? So I can't use a DFGT for GT4? Or does it work with GT4 on ps3?

DFGT should work on PS2 with GT4 because it is very similar to both the DFP and G25 in certain aspects. They both work with GT4 and the PS2.

Bumping an old thread only because I am really interested in the question as to whether the Driving Force GT can be used with G25 pedals. It was asked but nobody seemed to know, has this changed?

Hey guys, since I recently mated my G25 Pedals with my DFGT wheel as shown HERE, I have a brand new, never been used set of DFGT Pedals that I'm willing to give away. Now keep in mind that it doesn't have the original DFGT cable that connects the pedals to the wheel, so these would be used for replacement parts, etc. Just pay the shipping via Paypal as a Gift so I don't get any fees (which we can arrange via PM) and they are yours. Since they can be shaky someone's gotta have a need for them, or perhaps you know someone who needs a new set; send 'em my way. First come first serve I'd prefer to ship to Continental US/Canada but if you're willing to pay the shipping costs that;s fine I guess. Shoot me a pm if you are intersted or email me at jumpace@gmail.com. Laters!

I havn't tried it myself but here is a quote from someone who has managed it.

I found this while trying to find a cheap G25 which I have now found.

You can find the link on where he mentions HERE on the forsale board under free DFGT pedals.
Sorry I don't know how to carry over the complete quote.

Yep, I'm pretty sure I saw something similar where someone managed to do this, it meant disconnecting the wires from the DFGT pedals and re-connecting them to the pots of the G25's pedals. (minus clutch of course)
