Logitech Driving Force off center

Hello All,

My first post.

I'm sure you guys are probably sick of talking about Logitech wheels but please bear with me. I've searched all over the web and searched your forums but didn't find an answer.

Two days ago I bought the Driving Force wheel to use with GT3. However, one problem - no matter how I calibrate it, the wheel remains off-center. To go straight, the wheel has to be slightly to the right. It's still playable but it's very unpleasant.

I returned it today for another one but got the exact same problem! This time it's even more to the right. I really want to like this wheel but I can't get it fixed.

I've tried the GT3 calibration many times, following the instructions exactly but it does absolutely nothing. In fact, I don't think my calibrations work at all. I tried inputting random, extreme inputs for the calibrations, like turning only 10% when I'm asked to turn fully, and they do absolutely nothing.

Any ideas you can give me would be fantastic.

Thanks alot!!

Sam

Edit:

However, the centering problem can be fixed easily enough. At the logitech website there is a little tool, then you plug in the wheel into the USB of your PC, and with this tool you can recentre the wheel. After that, at least your centering problems are history.

I found this in an earlier post on this board.

Is this true? If I plug it into my PC and use some ultility I can fix the centering? Even though this is a PS2 wheel?

And which ultility is this exactly?

We're not ignoring you, it's just that there are very few of us that have dealt with this problem.

Perhaps the easiest fix would be to return it, and look for the leather bound MOMO wheel. Hard to come by, but worth the cash you pay. There are two MOMO wheels out there, but you want the one without the shifter.

In dealing with logitech's help desk and support, I found it less than useful, in fact they couldn't give a decent answer to any question I asked.
Logitech has known from the outset that the Blue Wheel has two significant problems. You only get 75% braking power and you can't shift when at full left or right lock.

The MOMO does not have these issues.

Good luck.

Well, Der Alta, that doesn't really help him much. ;)

Sam P - I would suggest trying the software to see what happens. You're on new turf as far as this forum is concerned. Give it a try and tell us about your experience.

Thanks for the comments.

The following was posted by a member called Arwin. If you are here, can you please point me to the exact config ultility? Thanks a million.

Well I would NEVER have bought the Driving Force, you should have gotten the Wingman FF. I've got two of them and never have problems, but people with the Driving Force always have problems and the not-being-able-to-shift-down while steering is really going to hold you back, as well as the 75% braking problem. If you can still trade it, trade it back for the Wingman FF.
