So I've been looking into buying the G27 and I'm wondering what exactly works and does not work in GT5?

I heard the force feedback cannot be lowered or changed at all? Anything else?

The buttons cannot be mapped.
Only one button on each side of the wheel work.
Two red buttons on the shifter don't work.

Actually 2 buttons on the right hand of the wheel work. For online mode:
"Top right button": High beam on
"Middle right button": High beam off

Rest are correct and bloody unfortunate.

This is because both buttons are mapped as toggle high/low / flash
They are the exact same function. Try pressing the top right twice. You will get the same function.

Only the top two buttons perform separate functions.

Any idea if this will ever be fixed?

And by unmappable do you mean the buttons work with the default assigned maps but cannot be changed, or just plain not work at all?

Does the dpad on the shifter column work? Do you have enough working buttons to make do with the game?

Menu navigation, etc.

Can you also just turn on your wireless controller and navigate with the wheel connected?

assign the wheel as controller #2, and assign a regular controller as controler #1 and just use it for menu navigation. simple.

OK that's not so bad, now what about the Force Feedback settings, I heard you cannot turn it down no matter what you set it to in the GT5 options and is way too overpowering in rally races?

Hopefully Arc isn't right because I like my force feedback strong. But if it does burn out then Ill go get the fanatic gt2 wheel with a reason to get it lol!

The breaking is broken if you turn abs off. I have to leave it at 1 or the car will lock up if you even think of breaking let alone touch the break. Other than that works like a champ!

anyone know how you adjust the force feedback on this? i've tried through the options menu but no luck has anyone had any luck ?

tried that, i set it to 1, still the thing goes crazy trying to over correct itself when i already have it all under control, what a p.o.s

That's what I'm talking about, apparently there is no force feedback control with the g27 and GT5 regardless what you set it to in game. (and Polyphony is saying Logitech is at fault, failing to make that wheel to PD's standards for programming.)

Thanks for indirectly answering my question :D

Looks like i'm waiting for the t500rs

Cant polyphone just make an update to add functionality for g27 ?? i love the wheel just need to cut down the force feedback, awesome wheel otherwise

whats a t500rs?

From what it looks like now, they aren't planning on it. PD is taking the stand that Logi did not make it fully compatible and cannot be fixed and thrustmaster is sliding in as the officially supported wheel. If it was something simple to fix, they would have already put it in to the supported wheel menu.

So.... Sounds like there is something more going on than what has been publically made available.

On that forum Logi says maybe it will be fixed, while someone else quotes PD saying that it cannot be fixed because of Logi not meeting their specs for programming.

Fanatec are smart as they have force feedback adjustments built into some of their wheels so you can change it without even touching in game settings.

Thrustmaster T500rs is this new wheel coming out, offical wheel of GT5, It says it will retail for $500 but there's speculation that in USD it will be $350ish, so, If that's real then that's what I'll be getting.

Thats unfortunate. I'll be making a decision at the end of January on what to purchase. If the G27 becomes fully supported by then, I'll get it. If it doesn't, I'll wait for the T500.

ditto, The fanatec wheels are a little too pricey with pedals, the G27 would be perfect for me, but I'm not dishing out that much $$ if it's not 100% compatible with the game I'm pretty much solely buying it for.

As long as the T500rs comes out soon, and is the right price, I'll bite. Expect it to sell out VERY quickly when it first releases though.

Although I am really eyeing the Fanatec GT3RS V2 with clubsport pedals.... looks so hot!!!

But I won't have a stand at first and definitely wont have a dedicated cockpit setup, a stand at most so I don't know If I should spend that $$ if I'm not that serious.

Thats what I'm having a hard time doing now. Waiting.

I want a wheel, now. But $400 for the GT3RS and clubsport pedals is kind of high and I'll be kicking myself if I just go buy that and the T500RS comes out a week later, ends up being better and retails for $350 like some speculate!!

It's hard to wait.

You should get in touch with Logitech, say you want your money back, for their lack of not letting you know it's not fully compatible with GT5. No one knew, no one was telling ppl, the only reason people know now is because they bought it and found out the hard way, that's bad business. Worst part is ppl are still buying it right this second thinking it will work fine, because not many people even know now.

WELL IT'S OFFICIAL....

1 x Standard pedals for Porsche Wheels $49.95
1 x Porsche 911 GT3 RS V2 Wheel - US $179.95

I decided to just roll with the standard pedals, and some time in the near future order the club sport pedals, probably when I have an actual wheel stand or cockpit. :D

So happy, wanted this wheel big time, glad to have picked it up.

I am waving to bs flag on the g27 issues being logi's fault. I have one and use it pc and ps3 and it is awesome and in the light of the new fanitic wheel is a deal. Although I hate the stylings of the fantic wheel the peadles look ace. May keep my eye on that and sell my g27

I wanted the G27, you get a better set of pedals, a gear shift and cooler helical gears for a better price than the fanatec gt3rs and the clubsport pedals together. However the custom setting adjustments on the wheel itself really sold me.

Shame that PD and Logi couldn't have come together and fixed the issues as of yet. Logitech really needs to step up to firmware upgrades for the higher end wheels to aid in issues like this never occurring again.

Do you mean brake?

imagine wacking on a autometer monster tacho on the top of the thing, will be awesome addition, just got to get it to work in sync with the real revs the game has lmfao
