Is the shifting problem because you can't reach the paddle, or is it that the paddle just doesn't respond after you turn past a certain point? The first I can handle, the second would make me pissed.

Do any of the wheels actually have a working gear knob?

ive only ever used the wheelman pro. its ment for some nascar game but it runs on gt3 too. i didnt like it all that much. it felt very gay and was very slow response

sounds like it was made for a NASCAR game, seeing as how you don't need to have very quick responses to drive the test track (or have very many working brain cells, or be sober... I have a theory on why people LIKE NASCAR, as opposed to real racing, just ask me and I'll tell it to you, I find it rather humorous and accurate.)

P.S. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo how I hate NASCAR

My sentiments exactly Jaster. I've noticed a few Indy Car races tend to do 200 laps around an oval circuit also...where the entertainment in that is I don't know :odd:

Can somebody please answer my quesion? Is the Driving Force's shifting problem because you can't reach the paddles, or is it because they just won't work if you have the wheel tilted too far? If it's the first, I can handle that, if it's the second, I won't buy the wheel.

Someone answer the man's question for goodness sake!

And as for your NASCAR theory, is it because it is the only thing you can keep track of when your drunk? That just occured to me when I read your post.

Oh yeah, 900 degrees of turn. That's insane. That's 2.5 turns lock to lock. Thats like a real freakin' car. The whole reason I always held off on getting a wheel was because I didn't want to put out the cash for something that was unrealistic like the current wheels (in terms of steering ratio), but always thought noone would make the perfect wheel. My hopes are very high with this new wheel, because it is the one I really plan to buy this time around.

If you exclusively drive opne wheeled cars, then modern steering wheels are fine... of course, most of the worlds driving sims/games involve more real cars... lucky the new logitech wheel does both 900 @ 300 degress ;)

BTW, am returning my second DF wheel after having the same steering offset. It is not a problem that can be fixed on the pc... its hardware.. and i'm getting it replaced until i get a working one!

I might be picking me up a Momo Wheel soon...at $50 AU off, it's a steal! :D

i have the driving force and i actully just raced the seattle enduro and a few times it wouldnt down shift for me but it might be connection because i would just shift it again and i would work so im not sure what the problem is but it doesnt happen alot

Sorry if this is a dead topic, it's because the pedals share the steering wheels power or something and when the wheel is turned around 75% the analogue gear paddels won't work, so it is the second thing you said. With a PC I don't have this problem (maybe because the USB on my PC gives out more power). On PS2 there is a way to fix it involving some funny looking battery thing.

Sorry for double posting but that appears to be for a braking problem, which I did not have, hopefully it'll fix the gear problem but I'm not sure, I guess I should have read the whole article before posting the link in here :(
