I have always had a problem with long distance drifting, by which I mean around long corners like on the super speedway. I think I am doing something wrong in tuning. Could someone please give me some settings for a car that can manage drifts around long corners? Feel free to do it via PM or just post it in this topic, whichever you prefer.

Its not the settings but the line your taking. there may be some other things but the main things is your line.

yep, I took a stock power 91 FD RS around the short corner of super speedway. it was all in the line.

yeah, it is all in your line. i can do it in all the D1 cars, and a few cars that i tuned.

Sparco Drifter
i get that problem too sometimes

but i just e-brake it and keep slidin

I'll e-brake when I know that I need more angle, but then I usually end up losing too much speed, so exiting the drift is ugly. :/

Truee

well if you fast try this

e-brakin, while locked up turn wheel in oposite direction or drift
rev up the engine and let go of e-brake it works sometimes but i preffer doing it twice to exit the drift more smothly

I know for me that drifting around long corner's took some time and im still learning but it is Line, Speed. I think if you get these two thing's right at least
for me sliding is easyer.

Another thing is I found it work's for me is if your sliding up the corner then try quickly tapping the rear breaks and add just touch more steering angle to get yourself out of trouble and through the rest of the corner. Remember to just tap the breaks because if you hold for any long period of time then your drift is dead.

I learned to drift my first long corner at the sweeping right hander at Tsukuba Circuit. I like to use the Breaking Drift at this corner.

Also using a good LSD helps alot. Stock ones suck for long drifts. I use FC LSD with accel set to 50. Basically anything above 40 is tight enough for it to hold a good long drift. Of course not all cars are the same. But line is your main problem.

I had a two player drift around the super speedway at the weekend as neither of us had ever drifted there. it is hard. but i find the banking on most large corners in GT4 the problem. it throws the balacnce of the car making much of the set up irelevent. my Evo VIII GSR struggles around there as well. another issue is the fact that the longer you drift the more momentum you loose and the harder it is to stay sideways. just keep practising and you'll porbarbly get it eventually.:sly:

I use a Merc E55 AMG (standard 476bhp) , tuned to about 650 , with standard settings (after I bought LSD , gearbox , etc ...) and on N2-s for my long drifts .. it works quite well most of the time 👍
