Hello GTP! Long time lurker here, big GT series fan and a real-life amateur racer as well. If anything, I actually can claim that part of my real-life driving obsession started with GT1. And when GT4 came out (with my DFP), I actually learned to drift in the game and it translated well to real-life. I also used GT4 to learn Infineon and Laguna Seca before driving in real-life in 2009.

Speaking of real-life to GT, I did a couple of experiments in GT4 and GT5 determining if I can match my real-life times at Laguna Seca in both my Miatas (NA6C and NB8C turbo). Apparently, some of you already found my latest vids and discussed them already: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=137881. Note one thing for those who think I purposely rigged the in-game time on purpose. If you read my Youtube video description, I only gave myself no practice before the experiment, simply set up the car to the specs I think are close enough and drove 15-20 lap straight (like a real track day) to get my fastest lap in the game. Also, when I made the videos, that was only about a week after I got GT5 and my PS3 and started playing, no experience beforehand. Obviously now, I'm much faster now since getting used to the physics and gameplay.

And just for fun, I'm answering the questions found on this old sticky: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=123956

How did you find GTPlanet?
- Originally, Google search for GT4-related news, but then GT Academy.

Where are you from?
- Sunny southern California.

When did you start playing the Gran Turismo games?
- Since 1999 with GT1, by then outdated as GT2 was already out, IIRC.

Do you play with a steering wheel?
- Yes, with a Logitech DFP since GT3. Yes, I bought the wheel before GT4 came out.

What other games do you enjoy?
- If you mean video games, not many current games. I'm more of a fan of the classics.

What are you most looking forward to doing in the community, now that you're a part of this site?
- Finding challenges and the supposed "aliens" to play with. I can learn a lot from them.
