Longest-running automotive model name

I made a comment in another thread about the 1983 Chevrolet Corvette, which of course got me thinking: what model name has been around the longest, continuously? Corvette is 1957-present, with the exception of 1983 so it's out, and Thunderbird is 1954-present, but it died in the late-90s, so it's out too. Is it Town & Country, or Suburban? Anyone know?
 
Mustang? To my knowledge they have not skipped a year since the they began in the sixties. It was the sixties wasn't it? I think the Porsche 911 has to be a good guess as well.
 
I might have to say the Jeep Wrangler, if you don't count the name changes. It was first produced in 1945.
 
Well the oldest suburban picture I can find is a 1941 but I'm almost sure its older then that.

Although there was no model year 1983 Corvette, Corvettes were still being produced during that time.

I think the Suburban takes it, either way.

The Suburban debuted in the late '20s, I think. The Town & Country didn't appear until after WWII, I believe, as a woodie convertible.
 
I believe I've heard of the Morgan 4 being the longest running model name. Mabye it is just the longest unchanged model though

Since 1920s.... Very impressive.
 
My guess would've been the Corolla, because I know that's definitely Toyota's longest-running nameplate. The Suburban sounds right, though.
 
It was made by Prince, but it was still a Skyline.

I think the Crown's been around longer ('62-now).
What about the Beetle? It started in WWII, and they were still producing them in south america untill after the new beetle debuted, so technically the name has been running the whole time. (unless you count 'New Beetle' as a seperate name)
 
Ford Falcon been around for ages, id say its the longest running Australian model,

The problem with that is I'm not sure if it was officially termed "Beetle" throughout it's life. I know production finally halted in Mexico about a year ago.

Folks:

- stuff that was cancelled doesn't count. That wouldn't be continuous
- stuff that's gone by different names doesn't count. That too wouldn't be continuous
- the Mustang came out in 1964.5. It and the 2001.5 Passat are the only cars that really stuck with that .5 title, though the Mustang is listed as a 1965 on Ford's museum's website and most people consider the Passat a 2001 since there was no 2001 Passat (and since its VIN had a 10th-position '1' as 2001s did).
 
The Beetle is the longest running name. If it didn't have to be continuousely running then it would be the Ford model T since either last year or the year before Ford made a few Model T's and sold them to collectors using the exact same materials and spec as one of the old models.
 
Try the Mini Cooper, I'm sure it's the longest running name, and car, since Speedvision did a special on it about 5 years ago, or rather, when the new Mini came out, they mentioned it as the longest running and less changed... along with the Beetle, although the Beetle had had more changes until then.

How'd you come to that conclusion? Was it really made before '35?
If so, and if it has been officially termed 'beetle' that whole time, then it would beat out the Suburban.
