What is the longest "straightaway" in GT5? I know Nürburgring and Special Stage Route 7 have big ones, but nowhere near the length needed to test a Veyron, Redbull X1 or Zonda without totaling the car at a corner.

If you want to test a Veyron, X2010, or Zonda to top speed those are pretty much your only choice. The straight at Le Mans (No Chicane) is the only other one.

Sarthe is the best track for top speed tests because Nurburg takes forever to get to the straight and ss7 is way too long. Sarthe is way shorter.

You could drive the wrong way around the Nürb track to get to the long straight quicker.

Me and my mate do drag racing at Le Sarthe and Nurburgring. At Sarthe we do 1/4 mile races and it is perfect. No flaws at all with the racing there. At the Nurburgring we drive backwards down the main straight starting under the bridge and ending after the Audi bridge. The hill gives you an early speed advantage. Le Sarthe is normal drag racing and Nurburg is high speed so I say Nurburg is best for high speed runs. The hill helps. If you drive the right way then the front goes light as you crest and you hit a wall. Nurburg is funner as if you use close car then it is really close.

I usually hit my top speeds on the return run through the tunnel on SSR7, partially because it's inclined downhill:sly:

But as far as straight length goes, La Sarthe takes the cake, although the undulations, bumpiness and the dog-leg could affect your top speed.

also a great tip if racing green hell online and you know the starting grid is organised by slowest first. You are in effect giving yourself a minus time by going the wrong way. works every time. Justmake sure you are the furthest way backwards than everyone else!

U could always try to make your own map to. Set the track as long as possible with 1 complexity on every section ull get a good straight eventually
